Role & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a talented GIS/Database developer to join our iPhone software engineering team. The successful applicant will join a highly dynamic team responsible for the design and implementation of the geodatabase and routing algorithms for our upcoming turn-by-turn navigation solution. The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in the overall design and implementation of the geo database and routing algorithms of our advanced 3D and augmented reality turn-by-turn navigation solution.
Propose technical solutions and develop ideas independently.
Produce high quality, efficient and maintainable code within given timeframes.
Work closely with iPhone Programmers and GNSS engineers and advise on innovative solutions to technical issues.
Participate in the design of the system architecture from the ground up streamlining the development.
Design and code software components related to database management and shortest route path calculation on iPhone OS using SQLite, Cocoa Touch / Objective-C and C++ languages.
Address challenging application/platform-specific issues such as augmented reality, database design and optimisation, geocoding, reverse geocoding, network analysis and shortest route path algorithms.
Assist with the preparation and analysis of 3D geospatial data using a combination of GIS and 3D modelling packages.
Requirements:
BSc or equivalent in GeoInformatics or Computer Science (MSc or PhD is a plus)
Proven experience in SQLite, Database Management, Object Oriented Design and Coding in the following languages: Objective-C and C++ (2 year or more).
Proven experience in iPhone and/or LBS application development (2 years or more)
Demonstrate knowledge in at least one of the following fields: shortest paths (point-to-point, one-to-all, k-to-k, dynamic and/or static), network flows, map matching and geocoding.
Good exposure to GIS packages (ArcGIS, MapInfo and/or GRASS)
Experience in Java, C and .NET Compact Framework is a plus.

Effective and independent learner, diligent, proactive and thorough.
Experience in Augmented Reality, Navigation or GPS fields is strongly desired
