You will be the VP of Tech in this new startup.
Please contact me if you are interested in discussing this opportunity as I am looking for the right partner. Email is best: marcoux@gmail.com, I am based in Seattle and would love to have a partner here (for initial launch) but am open to other locations if you are the right fit.

I have a better idea. Since I'm providing all the know-how and work, I'll take all the shares and call myself the CEO. Deal?
Are you sure you don't want to be VP? this company will the the next Google. If we really work hard for the next 6 months, don't sleep just coding 24x7, I really believe we will have millions or billions coming. Really, this is the most amazing opportunity that you should not missed.
Think again, you will be the next Bill Gate. You will regretted if you missed this once in the life time opportunity. Think Bill Gate, dream Bill Gate, you will become Bill Gate.
Thank you all for your "insightful" comments.
While there is a very technical side of the business, the business also requires a great deal of sales, marketing, management, etc that require another skill set along with the ability to run a business. This is why I am seeking a partner. So rather than go on about how you could do it all yourself please realize there is much more than just an iPhone app needed
- I would appreciate any serious responses for a great opportunity.
The company ethics are very important to me- work/life rhythm, enabling workers to be at home with their families, etc are very important to me as there are too many businesses that abuse their employees currently.
Respectfully, if you want higher quality responses, you're going to have to do a much better job of distinguishing yourself from the other thousands of postings describing nearly identical "opportunities."
Try to see it from the perspective of a competent developer: iPhone/iPad development is in high demand right now; there's plenty of freelance contracting work to be found, and rates are pretty good. Aside from paid work, Apple makes the publishing process so easy that developers that have any inclination of entrepreneurship can sell their own apps directly to a huge audience at minimal cost. Given all this, there's very little incentive to give offers like this a second thought -- they're everywhere, and the overwhelming majority are a waste of time and effort. We've heard it all before.
It's not enough to try and convince people that running a business requires multiple skill sets. Virtually all of the developers that would be suitable for such a role already know this. Instead, you're going to have to convince them that YOU are providing something to the relationship that's so valuable that the venture makes good financial sense despite the risks.
To put it another way -- if I have ideas and the technical skills, I can hire business consultants, lawyers, marketing agencies, etc, to help with the other aspects for which I lack expertise. They might be expensive, but paying them for fixed amounts of work lets me stay in control and retain all of the potential reward. If I have the skills but don't have ideas, I can make good money now by working for someone who's willing to pay me upfront for my time. If I work for you, though, I'm giving up some freedom and inheriting a huge amount of risk for only a share of the profits. So what are you bringing to the table that justifies this? It has to be something tangible, and you have to tell us what it is.

I couldn't say it better than this. There are lots of people who comes up with an idea and hope to find a developer and let him do all the work such that he himself will get 50% of profit. No offense I know you will contribute marketing effort, but you still need to justify the unique value and work that you will bring to the table.
