Default Making a LITE version for our app

Hey guys, we have our new app running and so far sales have been kinda slow. We figure it's mostly because our market is quite young so cash could be a problem. Also we've been getting lots of feedback on our facebook fanpage that we need to make our app FREE! We figure that if they try it out for a while that overtime they'll want to get rid of ads and get all the full features.

So now we're developing a LITE version that will have limited use. It's basically a rating system for images of Pokemon Plush dolls. So what we are thinking of doing is letting the app have all the regular functions except UPLOAD photos. The LITE version will be monetized with ads and that leads me to my question...

Is using iAds or something like Adwhirl a better option? How much can you expect to earn per click?

As you can tell I'm pretty new to this system so I'm hoping you guys can give us some great advice. Check my signature for our app.

But based on what i've seen on the Appstore, apps that are free + IAP to upgrade to full do better. A lite app is less popular nowadays. Anyway if you decide to do a lite app, go ahead, just don't only put iAd in. Put something else as well (like admob or other ads) and mediate them. You are gonna be disappointed if you just use iAd.

Yes we've decided to make a new app which will be free with the IAP function. We are confident this will drive our sales up users are saying they want the app but are not willing to pay the $1 for it. SO we figure the more people who get it and try will be more likely to purchase. Should be interesting to see what happens here...
