So, I am in the middle of a paid advertising campaign and I wanted to change the text in the definition of my app on iTunes...
I log into iTunes connect, make the changes and attempt to leave the page
but it tells me that my SCREENSHOTS need to be 640X960 in order to save any changes. I made no changes to my screenshots, nor did I want to.
So, I delete the screenshots, thinking I can just re-upload new ones at 640x960, right? It only allows me to upload ONE!
All I wanted to do was change the text in the definition and now I am stuck with one screenshot until I push another update and it goes through review at Apple!!
This is the problem with iTunes connect, the UI is HORRIBLE. They change things and don't tell anyone until you find out the hard way!
So, if anyone wants to change the text in their definition, unless your screenshots are all optimized for retina display currently, DON'T!! or you will be stuck with one screenshot until you push another update.
640x960 includes the status bar, which apples guides say you shouldn't include in your screenshots.
I agree with the guide, it makes it look bad. Now they insist you do it. OK apple.
They're making changes, and as is usual are messing everything up as they do it. App store is looking slightly different on devices now, I wonder what will break next.
I might have gotten the exact dimensions wrong, the point is they want larger, optimized screenshots even though I was not attempting to modify or change mine. All I wanted to do was change a few lines of text in the description and now I am stuck with one screenshot because that's all they would let me upload after I attempted to comply with what they were asking for.

It might just be a bug or something you did wrong.
I just pushed an update the other day into review and had to update my pictures to the retina resolution but left the existing ones lower resolution on the live version.
I just went into the live version, deleted my 5 pictures and then uploaded the 4 new retina ones without issue. Change a typo on the description and saved.
Maybe go back in and delete all the ones you have now and try again?
