Default My app rejected too. Crap!

I just got rejected for the 2nd time.

The reason is: app too simple.

The app has 7 tabs, with recitals and translation in it.
The first time it was rejected, with the same reason,
I added a compass that uses magnetometer to determine
the prayer direction. But still rejected with the same reason.

So now I am in resolution center to bargain.

I don't know why would such app be rejected.
And I even limit the store to only in my country
and a few other neighboring countries.

What else should I do? Add more features until
it is accepted? I'm out of ideas for more features
as it is a simple app but not too simple, and really is a useful app
for niche range of people. Meh.

Sorry for that Roco, you need to befriend a reviewer I think.

The compass is a good idea.

How about the opening screen being a choice of prayer mats, and then once one is chosen, that will be the background mat for the rest of the app?

If that gets rejected then come back and we will find something else to add to it.

Thanks DesertDiva,

Thanks for the ideas. Do you think graphics' awesomeness play some part
in this (not just features)?

The app's graphic now is too simple and below average I admit it. I'll give it a try to make the graphic more awesome... and some customizations as
you suggested.

Will keep updated with the app's progress. thanks

I don't think graphics play a part. Apple. Cannot reject an app that uses its own default graphics (I Am assuming you use the default UIKit controls)

One of our clients has an app with one screen that sends an email (that is basically it), and that got accepted, so I wonder why yours didn't make it through.... Hmmmm

One of my apps got rejected for the same reason, and fixing graphics didn't help.

Apple tries to limit the apps which could be done as websites as well :/

If nothing works then add a button that does something simple.. Like save as a wallpaper or something.. Or add in a drawing pen for no reason.. lol

the second time i resubmitted my app, i added a compass function in there and still got rejected. can one make compass function thru web/html5 apps? i don't think so.

anyway, i just revamped the graphics, and added customizations like be able to change background and color themes.... hopefully it will get through. if not, i will post the app appearance here and you be the judge what else i can do to make it approved.

temi, interesting that you say your client's app with one button to send email got approved...... is that app his first app? i would assume apple is lenient on first apps... but not sure. thanks for sharing anyways.

I had the same theory on that 'first app' thing Roco - I think they are lenient one your first, as you've just paid them $99, so they don't want to reject you ad nauseum (almost like golden handcuffs!)... I had an app for a client rejected on our account that they accepted when they'd created and put it under their own (new, virgin) account.

No actually, he has got 6 apps on the store. Your theory is plausible though.
i think it just needs to have a compelling functionality... even if it is one interaction.

Hm. Probably there is a threshold number of apps before they start rejecting
based on simplicity?
