Default Is it true iOS4.x users can't download updates with iCloud?

Hope this is the right place to ask.

According to my developers, if my app has iCloud integrated, users who are using anything less than iOS5 cannot download the update. It'll say they have an update but won't.

Is this accurate?

If so, they're telling me a percentage of users won't be able to update the app that will also include some other useful updates. That won't make them happy. So Im not sure what I should do.

Anyone know if it's accurate?

Thanks!
Benny

Not quite from what I understand, if you change the deployment version of the app, then they won't be able to download it. However if you do keep deploying to iOS 4.x and use iCloud you need to ensure the app will not crash when trying to access features that are not supported in iOS 4.x and below. Usually just conditional code to make sure the app does respond to a iOS 5+ function, if not do something else

A bit off topic, but how's sales doing these days Benny? Curious how an app that was featured survives in the long run.

That's maybe what they mean. They changed the deployment of the app.

All the other features should work in iOS 4.x except iCloud.

Ok I'll ask them more. Thanks for the info!

No problem! It's been averaging $50-$75 a day since mid Dec. That's where it settled after the slow decline after being featured. I had a boost in early January from a Photo website. I did $900 on that day and it slowly declined from there.

Hope that answers your question!

Have you tried experimenting with the price or has it always been .99?
