More promotions activated than has been given out?

Hi,

I track my stats mostly using AppAnnie as it gives a good overview over all the metrics. I am not sure if it is trustworthy.

During the last 30 days, App Annie claims that I have had *more* Promo codes redeemed than I have distributed. How is this possible?

I know App Annie basically just imports the ITC data, so it should be correct. I would be very happy if someone could explain what might be going on.

I have seen this too. I just thought I was crazy. Another thing that could be off are the rankings.

I have two sport apps, one is a basketball and one is a baseball app.


Baseball app made $13
Basketball app made $11

Baseball iPhone Paid Rank = 159
Baseball iPhone Grossing Rank = 500

Basketball iPhone Paid Rank = 98
Basketball iPhone Grossing Rank = 321

Ranks are not based on your 24hrs sales, it's a lot more complicated than that

Ohh ok thats good to know. App Annie support must think I am crazy since I basically sent them the same email a while ago. Then again at the same time it would be nice if they explained how it worked (if they know) so people dont think there is a problem.
