How buggy is the App Store?

I must admit I a slowly losing faith in Apple.

We recently got an update approved, but to my great surprise it didn't appear in all its categories as a new update. It seems to vary between countries. I can see other updated apps released the same date but ours is weirdly missing.

Is this common? I had hoped that the appearance of Apps would be at least a little it predictable...

Just wanted to add that the app is indeed present in the new lists for all its categories...HOWEVER:

It appears the sorting is messed up. A whole batch of Apps (including ours) released 30 january are listed between those released 27/28 january.

So, to answer my own original question: Very.
