Recently someone (probably a 12 year old kid) left a wierd review on one of my free apps.
Subject "Remove"
Message: Remove from perchance list
To me this review doesn't make sense, has spelling/grammer errors, and is generally useless. The app is free which doesn't make sense regarding the purchase list remarks.
This is the first 1 star review my app has gotten (all other reviews are 4 or 5 stars) and it's really dragging down my global star rating.
I contacted iTunes Connect to get it removed a few days ago, and since it's the weekend now i'll wait until this coming wensday until i'll recontact them again regarding a removal.
Are my chances to get it removed good? Or will I have to live with this BS?
I got a 1 star, insulting, very unfair, obviously over the top review. Apple would do nothing, they just said "It is their opinion, they're entitled to it". That saw my sales drop by 90%.
The only way around it now is by doing something dodgy: buying reviews, getting a group of 10 developers together to help each other out, re-releasing it under a new name etc.
Somehow what you have to do is get the bad review off the review screen on your iphone and that will take 10 new reviews.
Bad reviews are inevitable with free apps. I wouldn't dwell on it. If it really bothers you, do an update or get some friends to make honest reviews and mark those reviews as helpful.
