I just got my first rejection when I tried to update my app.
The strange thing is, they did not reject the update because of the new features (which we minor), but rather for previous design which had already been approved. The app has been on the store over 6 months now and updated once before with no issues.
I`m waiting to hear from the dispute I filed but from their feedback seems like I will have to radical redesign part of the app.
I think its really strange to make devs redesign there app after its already gotten into the users hands and they are using it and are used to it.

Did they just reject your update or did they also pull your existing app from the store?
I got it too. A few days ago. They rejected my update due to something small, but this was not what the update was about, this is in the original too, but they did not pull the app from sale. Honestly I do not think they even checked the current app.
I would simply resubmit the update and hope, that another reviewer gets it.
There are some douchebags working by apple.
Promo, do you mean to actually delete the version that was rejected and Add another one?
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think whenever I re-submit the binary after a rejection the same douchebag re-reviews the app.
I think you are right and the answer is to delete the app or new version that was rejected from the store and totally resubmit in hopes a reasonable reviewer comes along.
Edit: What I mean is if you are submitting a new app for the first time and it gets rejected you can delete the entire app from the store and resubmit. If you are updating an existing app where the update was rejected maybe you could delete the update from the store and again add a new version to try to get a different more reasonable reviewer.

Be careful - don't delete the app, just remove it fom sale. This way if rejected again you can put the original back on sale.
It is a bit long ago that I submitted an update and mine didn't get rejected, so I am not really sure if you can delete updates, but you surely can upload a new binary and then you go into review.
I don't think the same douche gets it. At least not on purpose. This worked for me with new apps 1 or 2 times and I know that others had the same experience.
Rejected apps just reuploaded and it went through without changing anything.
If you already wrote the board, wait for their answer, but next time, or if they stick with the rejection, just try to resubmit.

this is normal. apple reviewers don't catch everything the first time around. why not just update addressing their concerns and resubmit?
