So the first thing would be - When building an app what do you plan for as the revenue model before development. Here are some of the ones I know (If anything is missing please Add)
1 - Advertising (Banners, Interstitials, product placement, brand engagement) (usually want to hook up with SSP's or Exchanges)
2 - Lite to Paid (Lite one incorporates Ads and reduced content)
3 - In-app purchases (This is a complex model, requires tweaking as it changes for every game. The psychological hooks need to mesh with the game play)
4 - Virtual Currency (similar to In-app since its still digital goods, you can incorporate Ad models to try an monetize the users that won't pay)
5 - No one is really going with the paid model anymore unless its a Premium App... it just doesn't make sense with so many options out there. Check this infographic out.
