I launched an app that people loved a lot more than i thought they would. As an experimented I made it free for a day and the response was very good. (this was this week).
The experiment made me want to make the app free and figure out other ways of making money.
The only thing holding me back is the users that paid, it wouldn't be fair for them.
What would you do in my place? How could I make the app free, while making everything right with the users that paid?
Good for you for thinking about your users! I think the only viable solution is to create a new free app that is supported by whatever you decide, and keep the app you have now as the paid version.

I have a paid and free version of my Movie countdown clock app. The free version came after the paid with the only difference being that you are only allowed to set one movie reminder in the free version of the app with the ability to upgrade with an in-app purchase to set unlimited reminders (which brings the functionality up on par with the paid version) Perhaps you could implement something like this in your app to keep the people who already paid feeling as though they have the "full" experience.

I had an app which was selling $20 a day when it was paid.. Make it free with in-apps and ads boosted it at least 5 times when it was free. If you are worried about the users that paid then you can either
-Keep the current features free and charge more for in-apps.
- Forget about them, what are the chances they check the app store for the price? COMMON ITS $2
@ilmman, it's not about the fact that the app went free. It's that now, the app needs to be supported by something else, let's say ads. The people who paid now have to deal with ads even though they paid. You see a lot of people complaining about this.
