Changing release date - new releases list?

I have an app in review but the client has queried a feature in it and we may have to push back the release date until they give it the go ahead.

I know that if you change the release date to the day it is approved it goes to the top of New Releases, but if I change the release date to, for example, the first of Feb, will it be in New Releases then?

this was mentioned just a few days ago, and some guys said that setting a future date won't put you on the new release list for the date you pick, instead the app will appear on the new release list of the date it was approved.. this behavior started to happen again after the "feature" of having updated apps as new releases came back, because future dates worked before..
so, I would not take the risk, and pull the app from the waiting queue (reject), until close to the date desired.. unless you/your client does not care about not being on the new release list.

Thanks for the reply. I decided it wasn't worth the risk and pulled the binary. I hope Apple won't have a problem with me re-submitting the same binary again.

I think the New Releases list would be important for us, as this app will help us get our name out for our own app we hope to bring out soon.
