Guys,
I'd like to incorporate in U.K. (not a sole proprietorship, because I've got two partners). Did anyone try it?
I wonder about the costs associated with it, from a perspective of an iPhone developer who hires one or two people.

You need to set up as a Ltd (limited) company, LLC's dont exist as such over here. You can buy them off the shelf or get a UK based accountant to do it for you...
They were very good, although I recommend not for going for the extra's they offer you, they usually call you.
How much does it cost you to handle all the paperwork, and other costs (aside from taxes) a year?
I read about setting up a company in UK, and do I understand correctly, that the only thing I have to do is once a year fill a report about taxes? No monthly things to do? Can I do it myself, or do I absolutely need an accountant?

For a Ltd company it's cheaper for us to get the accountants to do it rather than spend time doing it ourselves, especially as they know exactly what they're doing and can save you more money than they cost to do the paperwork in the first place...

Who do you use for accounting? How much?
If I want to start an Ltd in Poland (my home country), I'd have to pay around £130 a month for accounting, plus around £150 for legal fees. I try to gauge if it would be cheaper to do this from UK.

It would be cheaper over here I'll have a word with our guys and PM you if they're okay with it!
Hey Mark, would really appreciate if you could pm the details also, our accountant always looks blank when we meet so an accountant with app experience would be a massive bonus. Thanks in advance

You could set up a partnership agreement… you don't have to go Ltd. do a google search for 'partnership agreement', there are some sample contracts available for free. Just remember the directors are all personally liable for company debts.
Be careful with starting business that are not based in your own country though. If this is a way to avoid some of the Polish tax they might come after you. There is a European law that allows this but basically it's all based on this single law that has been in effect since somewhere in the 90's, if this law gets changed/your country goes against it then all the legal issues will cost you far more than the money you'll save.

Well, it's not about taxes, but about beaurocracy. Thanks to the stupid law it costs around £150/mo to run LLC in Poland in *accounting costs alone*. Taxes are more or less similar in UK and in PL, but that £150/mo is a difference between me being broken-even and me being underwater.
As for the law - I think the law removing double taxation is quite solid, even if EU were to collapse, this law would remain in place...

I'm talking about the Centros arrest instead of the double taxation law.
