We have the best game idea and concept for the app market. We have been playing our game for over 30 years and it is just as much fun today. We have the Technical data, general design, and beginning layout all down on paper and ready to be coded.
What we need is the best: designer, coder and marketer. If we can put ourselves together with those three people, we would create a top money generating app.
So the question is: How do we put ourselves in touch with the people we need?
And don't forget. Having the best concept, the best game idea and best coders and designers doesn't necessarily mean that the users like it and you make the best revenue with it.
Yes. And the game is more fun today than ever. It has been a non stop work in progress. It is fantasy based. You start with an adventurer. You build his race, sex, stats, skillls and items. You then need some coin, so you enter into some local arenas to compete against npcs and other human players. The game is not very graphically demanding but has a lot of calculations that will need a lot of code work.
There will be a market for trading an inn for world players to chat and brag about victories. There will be ranking boards, and tournaments. There will also be lutus' (schools, alliances, legions etc) that the world players can join to work as a team against other teams.
The really cool thing is that tne game is a million times bigger than this, but this first program will be a great preliminary and stepping stone into many many expansions. We plan on the user being able to carry his character from one model to the next. Again, we have this whole idea written up and ready to code. We just need anreal good team to get it out there. You may wonder what seperates our game from others, we have a dice rolling system that surpasses anyhing i have seen to date.
I found a good resource at taskcity.com where you can post projects and get devs to bid on them. Ive posted this project and we'll see if i get any responses. Has anyone used this site before? If so, do you have a review? Thanks
First DOS game came out around 1988. So that's about 24 yrs.
If it were 30 years, then 1980-ish. I am guessing the game is
a board game perhaps?
Very close. Its a game thats played with a hex map and dice. Characters are drawn up on paper and move like programs and interact with each other. The game is a blast to play on paper with figurines on the hex map but would be phenomonal in app form where calculations and movements can be made in the fraction of time.
I would highly recommend using a service like oDesk for menial tasks, but if you're looking for some serious team members and are willing to give up a revenue share and/or pay for their work, then I'd check out Game developer classifieds! Find a job or post a position! . There's a ton of game industry people there looking for work. If you can't find what you're looking for there, look around Twitter, LinkedIn, or forums specific to the type of person you want to hire (like GameDev.net for a coder).
Good luck!
