Infinity Blades - 2 is better than one?
Angry Fruit Ninja - the best of both worlds?
Zombies vs Plants - the tables have turned?
Worms 2012 - ok that's just straight up trademark infringement, c'mon show some creativity we know you're capable of it!
So what is the review period for if not to stop things such as this? Do the reviewers literally just check the app doesn't crash on startup and nothing more these days?
I think Apple should start rejecting these types of games/apps where the screenshot
is just a ambiguous poster. An actual live screenshot of the app should be mandatory.

I tried to see the review of Infinity Blades where they got 3 stars and couldn't. I guess you only get to see four of the reviews, no matter how you sort it, you can't see the 3 start review!
Is this what Apple is bragging about when they claim 500,000+ apps ??!!
This is a HUGE concern for Apple, they just don't realize it yet. Once the customer base get enough of this crapp, they'll look elsewhere. If Apple doesn't get on the ball, they'll lose their edge, and the quality developers will go elsewhere!
Yea definitely. Apple should get right on it. If they don't, people will look elsewhere, such as the Android Market, where all the apps are safe and secure (and no trademark/copyright infringement takes place), and the top 100 of every category isn't littered with "Hot Naked" apps.

Absolutely. Apple's quality control is still light years ahead of its closest competitor. Every other platform (that I know of) has some sort of review process, but until those platforms get the numbers that iOS and Android have they aren't valid competitors. And that isn't to say that RIM, Palm/HP, Samsung, and Microsoft are any more picky about what they approve than Apple is. If they aren't, then the same problem will crop on with them as soon as their app list starts growing and developers move over.

correct me if i am wrong but isnt the android market place worse?
Slightly off topic. I really dislike the new look for app annie. It looked great before. Did they really have to change it? That was one of the first things that hooked me with their site was the clean modern look. Pretty disappointed with it now.

LOL Love your posts anyway
Yeah but the thing is just because they are the leaders and the rest is struggling doesn't mean that everything they do is fine. Clearly this is an issue and because it's not that hard to rectify it I don't see the problem in at least trying to.
Everything goes in cycles, nobody knows when they'll peak and drop, but slacking is a perfect way of accelerating the process
They have a brilliant business model as it's evident by their assortment of apps.
I just looked at the ranking of these apps on AppFigures! I'm shocked!
Cut The Rope: Classic is top 100 grossing in some countries even though it has a very negative rating and bad reviews.
These people are taking advantage of the fact that users are influenced more with the app icon, name and first screenshot. Rating and reviews are secondary. To insure they have a visibility on the app store, they just used the names of famous apps (Angry Birds, Cut The Rope, Fruit Ninja and etc ...)
