General question about enrolling in Developer Program

I hope this is the right Forum for it, otherwise please move or delete it, and I will post it again

I have a general question and did not find the answer on the official site. I wanted to enroll today (Because my first app is nearing completion) and wanted to test my App on my iPhone. In addition to that I kept my old 3G (have 4S now) in order to test it there aswell.
Is it possible to do that?

Because I was confused when I wanted to enroll. Here it says Enrolling in Apple Developer Programs - Apple Developer I have to purchase and activate my program? I am not sure what that means (english is not my native tongue), because when I read the "normal" description you can find on the developer side it says you can test it beforehand on your device.

I think the answer your looking for is yes. Once you enroll and pay your fee you can test on as many phones as you have.

I also have a 3gs and 4s and test on both of them for my projects. Just a heads up if your looking to support ios 3.x it looks like from the posts around here that a very very small percent (> 5%) still use it. It might not be worth it to put a bunch of your time into making it work on 3.x.

Yes, I want to test it on 4.xx and 5.xx - So I can safely enroll, thanks again.

I agree with Touchmint regarding targeting iOS 3.x. But do keep in mind that iPhone 3G can still run up to iOS 4.2.1, and having the device will be very valuable for performance testing. What might run lightning fast on your 4S might not work at all on the 3G. If you launch and that turns out to be true, you'll be in for a pile of 1 star negative reviews.
