Default Refund Request

ITC is closed and I jut got my first requst for a refund. Has anyone ever done this before? Are there any recommendations on how I go about this. I'd send the person cash for all I care so they don't go and bad mouth the app, but don't want to violate any app store agreement. Thanks

I think there is no official way for *you* to give the person a refund. The person has to contact Apple directly ( How to Return Apps Purchased from iTunes Store and Get Full Refunds )

But what I'm usually doing is I send people cash via PayPal, and tell them that it's a workaround because Apple doesn't allow me to give refunds directly.

Just like you - I prefer to give a refund than to deal with a bad review. Hell - I've given refunds just because people found a bug in my apps

Its like buying a pair of jeans at Dillards and then asking Levi's to take them back.

Let them deal with the point-of-sale and their policies. I always just write back and say "Refunds are handled by Apple and iTunes. Please review their refund policy and contact them if you would like to receive a refund."

FWIW, Apple usually gives you back their 30% if they process the refund. And, after Apple refunds them any ratings or reviews by that user are removed from your app since they don't own it anymore.

Remember Guys Your are the supplier, Apple is the Distributor..

Apple is responsible and handles all refund request.

Just Like if I bought the Movie "Men in Black" DVD from www.amazon.com, I have to go through amazon.com to get my money back, i cannot bang on Will Smith Door talking about i want my money back

Are you sure this is the case?

We should put this to the test.

Not *sure* no, but I've seen reviews that say "I want a refund. I contacted Apple" and then a few days later their reviews/ratings disappeared.

It would make sense to do this otherwise this would be a VERY easy way for competitors to give negative reviews with impunity.
