Hi there
I am a Canadian living in the US and due to visa restrictions can only sell some apps I'm developing through Canada. I have a Canadian address so that's all fine.
Since there is no LLC model in Canada, I was wondering what type of business to open. Incorporation seems very complicated and requiring much maintenance but sole proprietorship may be too skimpy.
Legalzoom.ca offers these options when opening a sole proprietorship:
-Federal Business Number (BN) Account
-Goods & Services Tax (GST) & Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) Account -Federal Payroll Deductions Account
-Federal Import/Export Tax Account
-Quebec Sales Tax (QST) Account
-Quebec Payroll Deductions Account
I'm not clear on which of these I'd need.
Apple Canada informed me I need to submit one of the following:
Provincial or federal business registration or;
- Articles of incorporation or;
- Corporations Charger or;
- Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) business number “license” or “certificate” - Certificate of Amalgamation
- Articles of Amalgamation
thanks for any help - my head is swimming over here

Steve
