Problem with app store - unable to install an app

I am having a problem where my beta tester can no longer use the app I wrote.

I added my brother as a beta tester and sent him a copy of the app to test, which all worked fine. And the app is now available for purchase in the app-store. so far so good.

Now what's happened it the ad-hoc profile expired and his iphone won't let him launch the app (because of the expired profile). So I told him to just download it from the app store, but the app store is saying that he already owns the app and can't download it.

He even completely deleted the app from his phone and itunes, but when he tried to download it, it still knows that he once owned it and it won't let him download it again.

So we cannot figure out any way for him to use the app even if he wants to pay full price for it.

Is anyone else having this problem or figured out a way to get around apple's screwy system?

Apple allow you to download any app as many times as you like. I've deleted and re-downloaded apps many many times.

When this happens, the AppStore "FREE" or "BUY NOW $0.99" button changes to "INSTALL"

Solution: go to the "Purchased" tab on your device.
