App stuck in Review and depending update was approved...what to do?

Hi,

i have a very strange situation. My first app is doing fairly well and has a steady userbase. So i started devolping my second app, which sends data via App-Url Scheme to my existing app.
So for the release of my new app, i updated my existing app with the url-scheme and a cross-app promotion which pops after the update was installed.
This update was approved by apple and is Pending Developer Release, because i cant release this update, without the new app on the store (Because of the promotion popup).

The new app is stuck at apples Review and i received the "Additional Time"-Review. So the new app is blocking the update of my existing app and i think the new app is stuck, because the update of the first app is not released yet.

So heres the question...Should i reject the already approved update of my first app and make the promotion popup deping on a webservice call. So that i can make this popup show, when the second app gets approved finally.
Or should i just wait for apple to react on my mails and calls?

I'm really stuck with this.

I'd wait for Apple and not overcomplicate things with additional changes. Chances are they'll finish it up faster than it would take you to make additional changes, upload and get those reviewed all over.
