App In Review Sept 9th, Still No Approval Or Rejection
I am just stunned at how apple is treating developers.
We have emailed Apple 5-6 times asking why the app is still in review after 6 weeks. All Apple reps say is that we do not have an update yet. How can Apple take 6 weeks without updating the developer? Right now I do not know if the app will be approved, rejected or what the issue is.
Any one have any ideas? Does apple management know that they have rogue reviewers that play with developers livelihood without any care. I really wish there was a way to let a senior person know. .
I spend 6 months updating my app, now I have waited 6 weeks plus for apple and dont know if they will ever approve it even.

If it is a new release and not an update and if you are confident that it is not something that would be on the edge of any guide line rules (you never asked yourself "is it something apple would reject?") than just reject it and submit again.
2) If I reject it then I think they will hold it again. I submitted the app on September 4th, and then on September 9th I got an email stating Apple needs more time.
I was patient since I thought that meant few more days. However, its not 5 weeks plus in review.
3) I have emailed apple review team, the Apple review team has replied back saying they have no update at the time and sorry for the delay. They are not rejecting it or approving it. They are not providing an update.
So I think if I simply reject and resubmit the review team will hold it.

What do you have to lose? It looks like now it will also never be ready for sale...
hi
once i had to wait more than 14 weeks !!
app was actually in review for 14 weeks, nobody answered my emails or explained the situation, nobody called, finally it was ready for sale....
I can't stand such long wait times, I would call Apple and if that does not work, resubmit the app again, probably check again any possible breach on the guidelines and modify the app.
I totally agree with you guys. My app is very simple, just two pages of plain text. I posted the binary on the 23rd of October 2011 and it's the 25th. Even worse it's not "Under Review" it's actually still looking for a reviewer. I wish apple would show you the queue therefore you can see where in the line you are. I've heard from my friends that the Google platform doesn't require approval and is on the Android store straight away. Only problem is: more people have iPhones than expensive Samsung smartphones or the Google Phone itself. The only thing you can do now is just wait.
My app went in review on friday and some hours later i received the "additional review time"-mail.
And until now, i have heard nothing from them. When i hear the horrorstories about waiting several weeks/months for a statement, i really get afraid.
I willwait patiently for another 2-3 days and after that, i will call the dev supportline and ask whats going on there and repeat that every day.
Why should i wait for them to forget me. Stay in their heads until they move
Best regards,
Grinarn

additional review time is usually followed by a rejection in my experience.

It can also be that they want to make sure you have permission to use an asset. That happened to me. I got held up with additional review time, they contacted me that same day, I provided proof and it went through a few days later.
It's crazy that some people end up stuck in review for so long. Good luck to those in limbo.

Any tips?
Sorry for your long wait, no tips I'm afraid. Can I ask, Do you have a good idea why the app needs further review time? If so then you could concentrate on addressing what you think is the issue either by providing Apple with more info without them asking or rejecting and making changes. 6 months is too much effort to waste so you need to grab the bull by the horns & try to push it through. Best of luck.
