Default iOS 5 beta wrecking havoc on reviews?

Anyone else having this issue? I get reviews saying my app crashes (on iPad), and looking at the crash reports in iTunes, it's all iOS 5 Beta! Any others having this problem, and if so, what are you guys doing about it?

I wish Apple would block iTunes reviews from beta builds.

Big Problem for me also, and I haven't installed beta 5 yet cos all our macs are busy building other stuff and I HATE to play around with new OS version while in the middle of development.

In particular I think Paper Camera crashes on iOS5, maybe due to a new way the library initialize the camera, super damn frustrating.

If anyone has got iOS5 and wants to shoot me a build log please pm me, very appreciated it!

(Yes and I've got 1 star reviews also, damn developers, you all )

It wasn't this bad in the iOS3 -> iOS4 transition but I have a 2 star review average for the iPad version (normally 4.5 stars). They all describe crashes and the only crash reports I see are for iOS5 in iTunes. I think b/c there is such a huge lag between when it was announced and it's supposed release date.

I also don't play around too much with betas, a lot of the crashes are probably on Apple's side (actually this is more likely true for me b/c most of the crash stack traces don't even go into my code, it's all framework stuff).

Btw ziocleto, you can get the crash logs yourself in iTunes (not sure if that is what you mean by build logs), and XCode 4 archives now have the debug symbols so you can desymbolicate the logs pretty easily. Just FYI.

Yes I know but I haven't got any reported on iTunesConnect, maybe they were from pirates copy I dunno how Apple are getting their crash report, but the only errors I've got are from current iOS versions :/

As far as I know, testflightapp has an SDK now and testers can send you crash reports directly through Testflight.

BTW that thing is one of the most amazing things for iphone devs. I don't even know, how I could live without it until now

LOVE testflightapp, probably the most amazing thing I've seen in 2.5years of development in iOS. Geek-wise I mean, superb!

I think there's a popup that appears sometime when you first get your iOS device and plug it into iTunes that says something like 'Do you want to share debugging information with developers?'. If they answer yes to that the error logs are sent to Apple when they sync with iTunes. I think it defaults to No however, so if it's a rare bug sometimes it will take awhile before a error report gets sent to you.

I have noticed that i have some error reports for 5.0 and none in other versions yet I've got some crash report comments. I had assumed that someone running 5.0 would understand they are using beta software and wouldn't be surprised about apps crashing, but who knows.

Yeah we've had this issue too. The really funny thing is you're not allowed to mention "This app is not compatible with iOS 5" in your description.

I agree, but I don't see how its FREE, I would easily pay $25/month for it.

Once they finish building out the product, they will charge for enterprise and premium versions.

TestFlight SDK is awesome, but it only officially supports ad hoc builds.
