availability date question??

I have submitted an iPhone app to Apple for approval, and was wondering what I should set the availability date to in iTunes Connect. If I set it to today, will my app start out lower on search results because it uses today's date, or will searches in the App Store use the date the app was actually approved?

Don't worry it will appear with the date when approved in the AppStore. Picking the date is useful if you want to be sure to release the app in the future after approval / for a particular event launch.
