Haven't seen this anywhere, and it's fairly relevant to everyone here. I was playing around on my iPad last night, went to upgrade all of my apps, and found a pretty revealing alert view about upgrade pricing.

In short, it looks like Apple is preparing the store to allow developers to charge current app users a reduced price for application upgrades. Could lead to a good deal of business opportunities for developers.
Would love to see your opinions as well. I tried tapping through on the Buy button, but was presented with an error. If you've seen this somewhere else, let me know. However, this was the first time I've seen it.

Fascinating if true. While developers may love this, it'll be interesting to see how users react. People tend to be pretty liberal with 1 star reviews even for 99 cent games, so I wonder if making some updates cost money will create a backlash of bad reviews. At least for the first few developers that try it.

Umm, this message has been known to show for pirated apps, or whenever the app in question could not be found in the list of purchases (refund, iTunes account sync issue...). This is not new, it's been the case for a few years.
I am not saying you pirated the app or anything, but might just have an itunes account sync issue when you proceed with the update.

So your the one who has been stealing my apps? The "reduced price"(free) would be shown if the app was not purchased "correctly"...

Agreed, this was originally shown 2 years ago or so when people that had pirated apps on their device synced to iTunes would try to get the upgrade....

I can guarantee you guys that I have no stolen apps on my iPad. I've never seen this, but if it is tied to piracy then, the iPad must not have recognized my iTunes ID or had me signed in. I restored the iPad yesterday, so it may have been tied with that.
