"Earlier today, developers of apps with the word Doodle in their titles started receiving notices from Lima Sky through Apple that they are in violation of Lima Sky intellectual property rights. Lima Sky is most famous for releasing one of the most popular games on the iOS platform, Doodle Jump."

I'm not a huge fan of trademarks, but in this case I think they have a point. They created the market for those types of games with Doodle Jump. Developers are using the Doodle title to cash in on the market they created. At the same those developers are diluting the perception of the quality of the Doodle trademark. So, yeah, I'm all for getting Doodle Hop, Doodle Skip, Doodle Fly, etc. out of the app store.

Im pretty sure they did not create the market for the "Doodle" games. These have been around for years, and there were plenty of these in the app store before Doodle Jump.
I could agree with you if the competitor products were of the same/similar type as Doodle Jump (whatever that is), but removing anything just because it contains the word "doodle"? And a pretty generic word at that.

Yeah, and then it's kind of a slippery slope. Stick wars became a pretty popular app but now there's stick skater, stick golf, etc. and i don't think those apps should be removed. it's just apple being apple...
