Does anybody know how fast the sale figures fall off after having left the top 100 figures?
Thus, how many sales would you need to have to be in the imaginary "top 200" productivity list? How many to be in the "top 300 productivity"?

Thanks a lot for your answer, Bertrand!
Do you happen to have some figures to give an idea?
Is the region around rank 200 = 10 sales or is it even below?

Im not exactly sure of my ranks but after the top 100 anywhere from 1- 13 a day. Its hard to truly pinpoint because the rankings can fluctuate so much.
wow that is indeed pretty darn quick!
Thanks for your answer!
Yeah I'm not in productivity, but that matches my experience in sports category. Outside of the Top 100 = inconsistent sales. Could be 0 one day and 10 the next. Doesn't matter if you are 101 or 900. There's the top 100, then there is everyone else.
Back in May, one of my apps was Number 1 in iPhone Productivity apps (both paid and free). I had around 1500 downloads per day of the paid version and about 15,000 of the free version per day (in the US only). My paid version also got up to about #30 in the top overall paid apps.
My advice: get featured in the Staff Favorites or New and Noteworthy overall sections. That really helps!
