Anyone else take a large sales dip on 9/1? I'm used to fluctuations of up to maybe 10%, but yesterday I took a 30% hit with unusually low numbers across all of my apps.

My sales have dropped significantly the last couple days. Not sure what is up, but the change also kicked me out of the top 100 in my category which is a killer. It seems like all the rankings got reset with itunes 10 or something.
The last week in August was pretty abysmal in terms of sales. I just attribute it to the final week of summer and everyone wanting to get outside and get nekkid. ok, maybe not the last part.
Does anyone use Flurry. I've noticed they haven't updated anything since yesterday. I know I had some low activity in my app but there's been no updated figures at all.

It was only the third day out for my new free version of an existing app, but based on ad impressions yesterday vs 2 days ago vs today, yesterday was bad. My impressions at 11am this morning were equal to a whole day's worth yesterday.
Now I feel a lot better. I put out a free with In App Purchase version of an existing Paid app, and the Paid app's sales actually went negative. (I think the 2 returns were because the Paid app only supports the iPad, and the free version is iPhone/iPod Touch). I was worried the free version was killing the Paid one, but the paid app just moved 25 places higher in Top Grossing in it's category.
I think everyone had to upgrade to iTunes 10, so they did not buy apps as much.
I also had a large sales dip on 9/1. For some reason, sales are always low for me on the day that Apple makes their big announcements. Not sure why, but it's happened the last few times.
It might have something to do with itunes 10 not showing the damn screenshots for apps again. i swear these people can't get anything right with programming this fvcking app store.

doubt that's the reason. no one buys apps via itunes. its almost exclusively on device.
My sales yesterday (9/2) were pretty horrible. I would say that the main reason is because of the back-to-school stuff happening around the world.
Once Dec approaches, watch for a rise to just above normal levels. Then, once Christmas hits, watch for 2x-3x daily sales. Hopefully if you play your cards right, you will have a good two months after Christmas with increased sales.
With iPods and iPads being the hot new items this year for Christmas, it should be a good one.
My app dropped from 20-30 sales/day to 1 yesterday.
Part of the decline was my free version, which released recently, but I thought that with the built in app promotion it would help sell the full version.
My apps were pretty steady for the last week but yesterday everything dropped. Hopefully the flood of new iPods will pump blood back into my dying apps.
