I have a question regarding transfering the app to another itunes account ( i.e. in case of acquisition ). What should be done so as the user who already bought the app from old account do not have to buy the app again? Is it enough when this app is deleted from old account and added to the new account with the same SKU identifier?
The last time this was discussed, it was impossible to transfer an app directly to another company and keep all the existing users tied to the app, because the apps Apple ID is not transferrable. So while you could delete the app, sell the source code to someone else, and have them put it in the store, it would appear as a new app with no ratings/reviews and existing users would be 'cut off' from updates. The SKU is your own internal identifier and doesn't influence anything Apple does.
MarkC: Thanks for the reply. So in this case, how is it solved in user point of view. Let's say that you are the user and you bought my app. The app is then acquired by another company. So you have to buy the game again ( if you want update the app in case that app is updated by a new company, or if you forgot to transfer purchase into itunes), even if you already did in the past. Being such user, do you have any right for refund? And who has to pay you such refund? Old company or new company?
