Popular iOS Types and Advertising question

Hello guys, hope you can help, I'm nearing finishing my first app but I have a couple of quick questions I'm not too sure about.

Firstly, what's the most common iPhone/iTouch OS's out there? With iOS 4 not out for too long I'm presuming there's probably a good number of people running a version of v3 out there, especially seeing as my app will probably be run on a lot of ipod touches, does anyone know what would be the best OS to target?

Secondly, is it o.k to put in a mechanism to advertise my subsequent apps? Once the first one is approved I'll be doing more in short order, being as apple tend to ban things at the drop of a hat is it o.k to put some code in that downloads a list of my other apps and displays them (probably when the user clicks on the info button)?

i just redid all my apps because of the following
- built in multitasking
- just better
