Question about an app where you can redeem real prizes

I have an app in mind that I want to develop but I'm not sure if it will be approved by apple at all. Basically you collect points in the app and then you can redeem them for real prizes as long as you have that amount of points. Small prizes like gas gift card, best buy gift card, mp3 player, but might through in an actual ipod and more valuable stuff. My question is would apple allow something like this?

Depends on what you're collecting points for. Is it for enticing other people to use your app? If your app is not free, that's a pyramid scheme and against the law.

However, if it's for other things, Apple has recently allowed contests as long as you make it clear that Apple is not involved and that follow all local laws.

well you would collect points so that you can accumulate them and then redeem them for the prizes you want, and yes my app would be free. the way you would collect points is using offerpal medias offers, and surveys where the user fills out an offer or a survey and gets a pre determined set of points. so they will continue racking up points everytime they fill out a survey or offer and then they can redeem them for the prizes.
