Default How far does the "no disabled UI elements" for lite versions go?

For example, I have several export features that I don't want the lite version to have. I would like to maintain the same UI with the export buttons, and just have an alertView pop up saying that exports are available in the full version only. It doesn't make sense to me to remove the buttons, otherwise the user doesn't get any feel for how it would actually work in the full version.

Anybody have any experience with Apple for this type of lite restriction?

I'm pretty sure what you want to do will get you rejected

Just submit it and if you get through great! If not, just comment out the code and resubmit. So you'll be in the AppStore a week later because of the rejection. Big deal!

It's better to try and fail than to have never tried at all.

Even if it's it now allowed, a lot of times these features get through and its a great marketing strategy.

Good luck - NOW SUBMIT IT!

As long as you don't care about the rules you could code it to appear after the app has been run a few times so the reviewers don't see it.

They also don't like time limits...but how about time limits on ads? i.e., ad-free for three days, then iAds start showing.
