Default Downloading a high resolution icon from iTunes?

During an app submission, a 512x512 icon image needs to accompany one's binary. Is there anyway to get access to that same 512x512 image with the effects that apple adds to it? (bevel and rounded edges?)

I can get the image from iTunes connect but it is too small to do anything with. Any thoughts?

LOL. That's actually what I ended up doing. I opened iTunes on my Mac and then zoomed in a bit and cropped from there. Definitely not the optimal way to do it but it does the trick.

I think there's a private API in iOS that adds this effect. You may be able to tap into that to create the image, then save it. I see that you ended up solving this with a screenshot (which is actually what I've done in the past), but if you need a programmatic way of doing it, this may work.

I did this once. Its quite involved and a screenshot might be easier. But I wanted to try to get the original so...

Paste your itunes (http not itms) link into safari and hit enter. Hit esc just before it redirects you to itunes.

Right click the image in the upper left and say "inspect element" This will reveal the html code with your image as a source.

Thats how I got:

edit: Just found this out. To extract your original (in case you lost it somehow)
Edit the 175 part to 512

It isn't so hard to do using Photoshop.

1. Create a vector mask using the rounded rectangle (I put the corner radius around 50px for my 512x512 image) to add the rounded corners to your icon.
2. Add an elipse object, and shade it to 60% opacity
3. boom! you have an icon.
