Anyone else have a terrible fill rate today? Mine has been around 40-50% but today dropped to lower single digits...on the day that I received the most requests so far oh well, this is my slow performing app anyways, I'll see some real numbers once my next update is approved.
Everyone is rushing to iAds. So the fill rate goes down.

While that seems possible I would think it would be a gradual decline, not a Grand Canyon style drop off, unless some ultra popular free app just implemented iAd.
Well, I guess i'll just have to wait until Apple decides to add in more advertisers other than just Nissan.
How do you know a click costs 2$? Did Apple say this or is it just based on the Wall Street Journal rumour?
Outside of the US it should be easier to find advertisers since in the US ad prices are the lowest.
In addition big companies like Nissan are selling worldwide.

How many different ads are there? If they are very few and people see them over and over again in different apps, they are not going to click in every app.
I haven't moved to iAds yet, but from my experience the CTR is at least partially dependent on what ads are being shown. Some ad networks will get consistently better CTRs over a given period of time.
I've already mentioned that I usually get double the CTR for my own custom ads. Those ads are obviously highly targeted to people who are already using my apps.
People aren't likely to click on the same Nissan ad more than once. So if that's all that's being served, you're not likely to get more than one click per customer. That's one click per customer, once, no matter how many apps he owns that show iAds.
My app has sent more than 1000 requests over 3 days (from US & Canada), and still not showing any immersion from iAd. Is this normal? how long until iAd start serving new apps?

I have two apps one was approved yesterday and one early today and i am showing stats and have earned money already. So to answer your question right away.

I'm using AdWhirl to make sure there will always be an ad. Now I'm starting to question AdWhirl, since there are people complaining on their google group that they don't get any iAd impressions Not displaying any iAd ads - AdWhirl Users | Google Groups

My apps only use iads. No other source. and don't plan to. Who knows maybe there is a connection ? Or maybe not. I am in the US. Just in case. That could be a reason as well.
When you say fill rate is 50% do you mean that 50% of your potential 30 second ad impressions are being filled?
So if 1000 people run your app, half of them are seeing an ad right away and half are not seeing one until 30 seconds in?
I just looked at the iAd stat for countries and it shows that for US number of fills is around half of the number of requests. I have no idea how requests is calculated.
Today, I don't see any request for any country except US in the iAd stat. I always got request but not impression for other countries. Have they modified their reporting?
