It doesn't seem like there is a specific section for iPad apps uploads, so do I just use the same way I upload iPhone apps, go to Manage your Applications, then click Add New Application?

Does your app support all four directions?
I saw one guy said he got the rejection because of supporting one portrait view.
In the original guidelines it said that all 4 orientations were a must - in later versions their stance 'softened'. I've gone with the two landscape orientations so I'll let you know what they do. I've got another binary to chuck at them straight away should it fail, but I'd rather it just have landscape if I can get away with it.
WRT to uploading, the upload process works out whether it's iPad, iPhone, or both, and asks you for screenshots depending on what it finds, and rejects screenshots inappropriate to your binary.
Just checked my server log - they are REALLY on this iPad submission thing! 10 hours from upload to first real device ID on my server. They haven't rejected it yet... But there's still time lol

Did they approve your landscape-only iPad app yet?

I also submitted one supporting both portrait orientations.

I just got the approval email, but they said it would be nice to support all orientations. But they are not requiring it for the purpose of the game! Yay!!!

Did they say that in their approval email? Also, how long did it take for them to approve yours?

Congratulations!
And yeah, this gives me hope (just uploaded an app with only landspace orientation supported).
By the way did you modify your original iPhone game to support iPad (Universal Application), too, or did you just make a new application for iPad? I have two versions of the same app: one for iPhone and one for iPad.
When I just submitted a new app without the binary (upload later) it had slots for uploading iPhone screenshots and slots for iPad screenshots. Just double checking, once I submit my binary (iPhone in this case) the iPad screenshot slots will disappear? Thanks.

I'd imagine if you don't put anything in them they wouldn't have a reason to be shown

I made a new app for the iPad with high res pics to make it look realy pretty!
@GreenApple
They said that to me in two separate emails to try and support all orientations, but I'm sure if they really required that then most games would be ridiculous to play! I uploaded on Sunday and received that Wednesday.

Got rejected on the basis of some HIG flaunting. However, after an email outlining why I'd done what I'd done, they actually agreed with me and said that my implementation, in this instance, was preferential from a user experience to that outlined in the HIG. So they let me resubmit with the HIG exception in place (there was another slight problem as well, so I had to change that too)... Hooray for Apple seeing sense!
Nothing about having two landscape orientations though. I've read that if you only have one portrait orientation then it's a given it'll be rejected.
This might be a dumb question, but how are you submitting apps for ipad if "iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 5 is for development purposes only and should not be used for submitting applications to the App Store."
Also, what are the build settings for your final app when your ready to submit? Do I use "device 3.1.3 for distribution" or "device 3.2 for distribution" when creating a universal iPhone/iPad/iPod app?
They approve the app and then when the GA of 3.2 SDK is out, you recompile and resubmit (without changing your code and putting bhoobs gallore in there LOL).

Cool, so your submitting it now as 3.1.3 build? Or 3.2?
If I've got it right, I think the current submission process is for iPad apps only, i.e. no universal binaries just yet. I may be wrong though...
That would make sense, seeing how the iphone/ipod OS is at 3.1.3 (DETROIT! LOL), and the iPad is at 3.2. Until there both running the 3.2 I cant see how you can submit a universal application. With that said, I would think that Apple would want developers to create universal apps more so then iPad specific, making it easier for the users to "buy one app, that runs natively on all devices".
