Will sales stay steady from a new release?

So, yesterday my app got released in the afternoon, and showed up at the top of the new releases. Subsequently, I got quite a few sales.

Today, the app is on page three of the new releases for it's category. What amount of the sales can I expect to keep coming in? Will they stay fairly steady, or will they promptly drop down?

Now this is not the rule, there are other apps that shoots straight to the top 100 and sell like hot cakes....but the top 100 is only 100 apps....out of over 150,000 apps
