Cubla... you said that Apple called you. Did you happen to write down their Caller ID? If so... could you post it.
I need to call someone at ADC. I've been waiting 31 days now... getting pissed
No I didn't, but it was a number in Scotland, UK, it's not the first time i've heard people getting calls from Scotland.
On another note I sent an email to appreview@apple.com and I titled the email 'Urgent fix required' and I got an answer back with in 24 hours.....
"Thank you for your expedited review request. We are in the process of reviewing your critical update to your app and will keep you posted to its status."

Also I spoke to someone at ADC and they said that the review team are a closed unit and outside people can not talk to them incase they get influenced. I said 'well can you tell them to reply to their emails in less than 6 months then please!'
Just got another reply to one of my emails, sent 19th Aug replied today....
Thank you for your status request. We are currently investigating the status of this application and will get back to you shortly. Thank you for your patience.
Took 8 days to reply...better than 6 months I guess.
I just sent an email to appreview@apple.com, i'll see if it helps anything along. Today is the 24th day after submission, I was kind of hoping an important bug fix update wouldn't take a month to get approved, especially since it doesn't even add new features...

App is now 24 days in submission.
Do you have "questionable" content in your app? I did on one, and they played this same F-ing game with me
it's still in review > 1.5 months and they are just playing "operation perma-delay" with me
3 apps to completion so far.
1 in review
1 almost done
1 outright rejected
2 put on permanent "hold game"
App #1. simple tabs, with different simple things on each tab. took 6.5 days to review and go "ready for sale" - This was in MAY
App #2. this used xml parsing, read from a WS on the internet, dynamically generated content, had acheivements within game as well. very complex stuff. Apple F-ers took 35 days to respond to me and say that I had used an "add contact (+)" button 'inappropriately'. (not to mention while in review i tested this app thoroughly and found like 20 memory leaks, BUT NO THAT WASNT BIG ENOUGH TO REJECT IT!! it had to be the add contact button. WOOOOW morons.) I fixed the issue promptly and after submit.. it was in the store "read for sale" in 7 days. This saga occured from June 5th -> July 15th
App #3. this one was very similar to app #2 and I had the same problem as App #2 (I submitted them at about the same time, maybe 1 week later than #2) I rejected this myself and fixed it after 20 days wait with ZERO emails from apple, and once I resubmitted it, it took 9.5 days to get into the store. This all occured from June 12th -> July 22nd.
App #4. had some "questionable content" -> nothing for 2 weeks, then that "we'll get back to you" email. and then ZERO response after that. It's been like this for 1.5 months now.
App #5. same as #4
App #6. this one was outright rejected b/c I was really pushing the limit as far as their puritan standards go. I expected a rejection... and for this one THEY ACTUALLY GAVE ME A PHONE CALL a week and a half after I submited it. The dude was sorta embarrased talking to me and STILL WOULDNT SAY WHY IT WAS REJECTED!!! THOSE F-ING COWARDS!!!! EVEN TALKING TO THEM IS MORONIC!!
App #7. i submitted this one at about 11:30pm on Monday this week. That makes 4 solid days for review with no response yet from apple
App #8. I'll be submitting either tonight or tomorrow morning and will report my results for the glorious statistics of the internet masses to cherish.

"Glad" to hear I'm not the only one. A few of my own stats:
1st app: Web browser recorder/playback app. This took over a month, first submitted in Feb. Update to it took 1 week (in Mar).
2nd app: Simple pictures/geo-location saving. This took 1 week. (first submitted in Mar).
After 2nd app, I had my hopes up, but....
3rd and 4th app: free and paid versions, respectively. Complex travel app which pulls data from web server and has posting/sharing functions.
5 weeks and counting...although there have been some UI rejections in between. Unfortunately, they don't discriminate between common and edge cases. From my web logs, it looks like it took them at LEAST 1 week to even look at the app. I've sent a few e-mails, both as responses and directly to the app submission email with no replies.

Took about 2 weeks for my app to get through. It kind of sucks because I didn't exactly want to submit my app as early as I did, but I kept reading horror stories about people waiting for upwards of six weeks, so...

bunch a f-ing cowards at the app store!!
(i got that exact same email as you)
Nope, it is just a lite version of my game that I already have out there (which they approved in 12 days) I just restricted the number of levels and pulled a few small features.

yup.. those bastards. i am seriously choking my life creating legit usable cool apps (i'm sure you are too) and those apple puritans don't even have the decency to give either of us a single email as to why they feel like rejecting us.
more info for the internet to know: (BTW this app was nothing more than a sound board with some funny jokes on it... NO PROFANITY, NOTHING GRAPHIC AT ALL!!! Like MAYBE some pg-13 rated stuff at MOST.
when apple called me...
1) the douchebag acted like he was reading from a script or was embarrassed or something because he didn't even sound like he was human.
2) he just rambled on about how "we just aren't going to allow this to get into the app store" without any reasons why
3) lastly, and this gets me FIREY RED HOT pissed. let me quote:
I said: "so is there any SPECIFIC reason for rejection?"
Apple douche: "well i glanced over the description and saw one of the screenshots... -stammers like he's unorganized- .... uhhh... yeh just looking at the screenshots this isn't.... .............." dead stops.
I reply: "so you never actually opened the application to find out what it did? you only read the description and looked at a screenshot??"
Apple retard: "Of course I can see what the app does sir" (YEH RIGHT WHY DONT YOU OPEN IT UP)
Me: "So what is specifically the problem that is keeping this out of the store, something that I can fix"
Him: "This just isn't something that we are going to put in the store at this time."
basically it ended there. if apple fell apart completely at this point i don't think i would care.

You should totally post the screenshot here. I think we are all curious to know what the fuss is about.
We submitted a "Lite" version of iPuck on 8/4. We're still waiting. iPuck was approved 4 times, but I can't seem to get the lite version through. This is insane.
