I'm on day 18 and counting. I did get a cryptic message saying something like 'We're sorry that it's being delayed because it's being delayed'. This was after me emailing them for an update.
It's been nice reading this thread, as I find it useful to see that other people are having long delays, sometimes for no real reason.

Reason: typo
My first Paid app was uploaded on June 29...and "Ready for Sale" on July 22...took almost 1 month. Then I uploaded the Free version of the same game on July 26...it is now Aug 24...and still nothing!

Another update: I called the gentlemen back from Apple. Extremely nice. Basically my app had a couple inappropriate keywords and a description which was pushing it. The app itself was fine but my description and keyword is what did it. So basically for it to get approved I have to change my keywords. Only way to do that is to resubmit the app from scratch (but iTunes Connect wont let you delete a pending app) so I have to change my app name and resubmit. On a good note the gentlemen said I could shoot him an e-mail and he'd try to expedite it as i've been waiting a month as it is. FML!

FML???!!!
No...F Apple.
What happened to you is what happened to me. The binary was fine so no problems there. But Mine was not rated high enough, so they kicked it back and made me resubmit all over again. But I was able to do it using the same submit and just changing the parental rating. I am surprised you can't do that too. You simply change the keywords and description, and resubmit your binary...where it says to do so when you get rejected. Either way though, it pushes you to the end of the que.
So...how hard would it be for CrApple to simply hold your app, let you log into iTunes, and update your description, keywords, and rating if necessary. Not hard at all. They can then see the updated version, and then if satisfied can release your app for the store. That is exactly how other organizations do it. The do not make you resubmit all over again, unless the company...read mortgage company does not want to renegotiate your loan terms for example. Every body else does it the efficient way, so that you can get it done ASAP. So the update would take you about 30 minutes to do, Apple sees the update, and you are good to go.
With the current system you are looking at another 3 week wait or so.
And what will happen if they still do not like your keywords or description...Gulp.
Although as the reviewer said he would try to expedite. But that is not the point.
The point is....
APPLE systems Suck.

What really pisses me off is that Apps that were submitted after mine are getting approved, shouldn't it be that the Apps are approved in the order that they were submitted, unless of course you are one of the big companies that Apple are promoting.
They are not operating a fair system they pick and choose, I know this for a fact as I speak to lots of people at various big companies and they can get their apps approved very quickly. I pointed this out to Apple and I suddenly got 2 phone calls from Apple at 7:30am to tell me that this wasn't the case and everybody is treated the same...bullshit!!
If it wasn't true why the concern about ringing me, I sent them a list of big companies I know people at and the fact they told me that they can even get their app featured by Apple (because they are a big company), I think they were more concerned that I was speaking to other people. I've been in the Game industry for 25+ years and know a lot of people and what Apple are doing is pretty disgraceful.

A lot of app developers suspect just what you are saying.
And if true, it is totally unfair.
But unfortunately, there's not much any of us can do about it.

I hear ya mate (all too loud and clear). My app, when I first uploaded it (took almost 1 month to release)... I was glad that it finally was released, BUT...2 other apps (almost the same thing)...were released 1 week before me.
I contacted the developers of the other apps, and it was confirmed. They submitted 2 weeks after me...and were released 1 week before me... go figure.
I truely think the FCC should be looking into this ASAP. There should be strict rules that Apple must follow...just like all the other guys (AT&T, Rogers, and the rest).
They seem to have their own rules. As far as I'm concerned, the iPhone would never have gained such popularity as it has without app coders. Nobody can dispute that!

Just be patient my friend.
What Apple really needs to bring it to its knees and senses is for it to have some stiff competition.
Had an app stuck in review for 4+ weeks, eventually we rejected the binary ourselves and resubmitted the same binary. One week later (today), its approved. During the 4 weeks hiatus we had no hits our on server from Apple (the app get data from our server). Seems to be totally random.
My 2nd app was submitted the 7th and was finally on the store late the night of the 20th. However, my first app is still not on the store and it was submitted July 20th :-/
Here is my 2nd app, Rave Party, if anyone is interested: iTunes Store

Day 15 still no activity on my servers for the new app.
If apple is truly reviewing apps on first come first surve basis then they should display they queue next to your app status in iTunes Connect.
something like "Status: in review (1756 apps ahead of you)"
at least then you will have some sort of idea how long it will take.
That's exactly what I think. I posted awhile ago saying this same thing. We should do something to try to pitch that to Apple!

Pretty funny that you have 2 5 start reviews, for both your apps, from the same people.
There my idiot friends who I told to give me good reviews.
You could leave me one too if you like!
lol

You guys WONT believe this! I got another phone call back. They want me to change my Fn' icons because it might lead to 'USER CONFUSION' because my Icon.png and Icon-Small.png doesn't resemble my Default.png... WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Generally they do not match at all.
For example, most games have a default.png with the company logo and name...that in no way resembles the game icon.
So, is this Apple's new policy...another hoop to jump through?
Or...no offense meant here...is your icon far removed from the content of your app.
For example, using a girl in a bikini on the icon, when the app is a utility, that does Dewey Decimal System Library searches.
Please let us know...because any new irrational rules, will make it just that much harder to get something,...anything into the store.

Now that is just stupid!
This is like banging your head on a brick wall.
What's the point of having an email address that they don't respond to, well actually they do, I just had a reply to an email I sent 6 months ago! @$%$

No, that's not stupid.
That's Apple
I sent one regarding a problem, and they got back to us after two months. And ours was a serious problem that ultimately we had to scramble to solve ourselves.
Now if you buy something from Apple, and you have a question or complaint, they will get back to you in 3 HOURS, and kiss your sweet *ss in the process.
