This is true, I am about a year late on joining this scene
On a side note, are there a lot of puzzle games like these? I really haven't seen too many on the app store, perhaps too simple for people? also what was the "LOL!!!!!!!!!" for?
I agree marketing is gonna be the biggest hurdle, and I don't expect millions of people to follow it from this forum, but you know I'll do my best to get however many people I can to check it out and get feed back from. It's the least of the advertising that I can put forth without being a huge company.
The LOL was not meant to jump on you or your game. It was more a reflection on promoting a game or app on a board meant for review wait status. In other words, the audience that will buy your game is not on this board. That's where the mystery of promotion and target audience comes in. And it is a hard nut to crack. But you've already mentioned that in your post to me. Having a name like Electronic Arts helps...especially if it's a popular game rewritten for the iPhone.
Well..that's not encouraging seeing as I submitted mine on the 7th...where did it update you on the "is requiring unexpected additional time" message? in your iTunes Connect managing app section?

No, its a canned email I got from Apple. I've gotten them in the past, on my previous apps....not really sure why some people get it and others don't.
I submitted WalletWhiz Lite (free app) on June 26, rejected the binary & re-submitted on July 4. Yesterday (July 16), it was finally approved. This is actually a Lite version of WalletWhiz, which has been in the App Store since May 31, so I'm not sure if this was taken into consideration when they reviewed it.
Submitted: blender v1.0.3 on the 12th
Rejected: July 16th
1. This is a recipe app that has some alcoholic smoothies in it. From version 1.0.2 --> 1.0.3 the recipes have NOT changed but it was rejected due to me not calling out the alcoholic "references" in the rating system...my fault but WTF with the inconsistency.
2. It took 4 days to reject (and usually takes about the same for my other rejections) - I'm sure this has been discussed however why on earth does it take apple such a short period of time (ie. Four days) to reject my apps but 10 - 14 days to approve????
I got rejected today for my Free version of a babes app. 2 images. Which are not even bad compared to what I have from other app like it. So back to the waiting line, end that is. Oh, and I also sent them my reply. Since it was 2 rejections in a row. I asked if I were an Apple app approver, say I was just in a bad mood. Could I just deny every single app that came to me that day due to some minor infraction. ........ Like manipulation of the device or rating is too low or user could easily become confused, be cause I see a lot slide with these rules. I see topless girls apps where they are all holding their breasts. At least mine had clothes!
Just submitted my first app to the App Store. I can't wait for it to get approved. I'll try and post when it does. So far the whole process of being a developer has been a lot easier than what some people have been through. I hope the app submission process doesn't make me feel otherwise.
It was so long that I have had time to submit on other application the 17th
and hoped that both app would be accepted the same day but the second one is still waiting.
Approved this morning, after 3 weeks (first submission received a response after 4 days, only problems were 2 HIG issues). Category is Photography / Social Networking:
