I submitted my new super fun app SLAPHAPPY, on June 11, got approved June 23rd. I didn't release until July 2nd but due to some weirdness my release date stayed as June 23rd so it never was shown on any "new" pages ...
Lame, because any "newiness" is a real sales bump.
so for now please check out SLAPHAPPY v 1.0 at itunes: iTunes Store
I have v1.1 update in on June 23rd, still waiting. Hopefully this will give me a brief moment of "newness".
Does anyone know if your update does make your app show up on the "new" list?
BTW Probably took so long to review because he didn't provide a valid website or support link. Not exactly professional and in my opinion Apple should not allow apps without some sort of valid site/support link.
It is a valid website and support link. Apple has had this problem in the past. I have sent in a request to fix it.
Didnt mean to anger anyone with my app i thought you guys would think it was pretty original.
@mr-sk nice job! Looks like a useful app too, best of luck.
Mine was submitted June 29... still waiting. =)
Gond
Thanks Gond - That's not the app in my sig actually, well it is, but its the 17+ uncensored version. Its not searchable yet in the app store, only via direct link, so I've not started advertising for it.
I agree. I have a support site. It's my computer business. But hey, I'm not big money baller like these guys like Inside Root Media. My apps are what I do for fun mainly. But the blank sites or obviously bad links is stupid. What if we all put Apple? LOL I'm doing apps to keep busy while I'm training. I have 14 apps and 5 upgrades waiting in line as of today. Not even 6 months and I'll have over 40 apps. Are they cool? Not really. But it makes all your apps look better.
Hello! I'm new, joined to get some help with my second app.
I submitted my first app to the store on Tuesday, the 7th of July. It has yet to be approved. Shocking because it is such a simple app. Literally, one screen.

Hi Scott, Apple says they can take 4 weeks. But most I have had took 7-9 days. They get to it when they get to it. Which is grueling. But we have noticed they tend to do a category, specific one, to really approve a bunch that day. Other categories you'll see like 2 or 3 approved for the same date. Someone brought that up a few posts back. It seems accurate. A one screen app? 2D game like iTennis? LOL That is what I have been doing, but trying to work much much more into it.

Yep, if you go to the catagory via iTunes "Browse" and set it to list by decending date, you can go back and see that they indeed approve apps on both Saturday and Sunday (in fact a ton of them were released over the 4th of July weekend. But so far, this weekend (July 11-12) not so many, it seems like a huge drop off. But like someone said, it could just be an automated cue.
Who the heck knows...we're all just waiting. But it is good to know that one from June 30th was approved last night, as mine was submitted June 29th.
Tick, tick, tick....that's not the clock ticking, that's all my facial ticks that waiting for approval has caused. Next is turrets. =)

I've had an app released twice on sunday. So, they do indeed work weekends or its just an automated process, that takes care of apps in the queue.
So, I actually spoke over the phone to a reviewer at Apple. heh. It was on Sat (Yesterday) EST around 4PM*... he joked that they do work on the weekend. I also got an email from him as well, which led me to calling him back.
I was a little concerned at first, but it turned out they just wanted some clarification. Totally cool guy and I was surprised to be actually talking to a human.
I'm so used to automated emails and no responses. He mentioned how busy they are and typically it should be a 7 day turn around. heh. I've had a 28 and 26 day (IIRC) turn arounds. heh.
