Forgot to add one other thing.

On my next app, will put in some code that will send a message to my server.

That way, like some other developers...I'll be able to tell when those monkey reviewers will have looked at it.

Otherwise, you'll never know....until you get or do not get approval.

The wait is over. At least it sure seems like it. Today, I received 6 application updates on the App Store. Yes, 6 updates for apps in one day.

And, two of my apps were accepted today, a new app and then an update to a current app. Seems like Apple's clearing out the mess of apps!

Wow, wednesday. Not bad! Sometimes I thought, there was some kinda routine in all these approvals. However, maybe it's so complicated, that an outsider can not track it down or it's completely random (which I don't hope). If the latter turns out to be the case, we might check out the betting office round the corner, if they allow us to place bids on release dates

mind posting the type of app that passed through so quick? i have a theory new genres or apps without many in the genre pass through quicker while they throttle down others... any thoughts?

I just checked my binary and it was built Tuesday June 30th at 10:40pm, and submitted immediately thereafter. It was approved during the day today... so technically 2.5 days.
It was just a new icon and adding a "tell a friend" feature.

But like I said, I have others that have been waiting weeks - why don't they finish those first!?

All my approvals before the last month were consistently 6 days.

@will.ray - this is my one and only app in the Utilities category - so maybe you're onto something

they prolly have a list of apps they pass thru or slow down.... games are plenty so i bet they pass utilities and business apps quicker... maybe. lol.

Yea, I have been told updates take as little as one day. Well my 2 updates, on 2 separate apps, has been taking weeks! I just rejeceted the binary and uploaded it again. Guess they got skipped.

I just came to post the same thing about the Photography category... There's generally only 1 or 2 new/updated apps. July 3rd, there were over 40.

Looks like finally got around to clearing some of the 3.0 backlogs?

Books is the same too, probably others... this is a major development! What the hell. It actually sucks in one way because my app showed up in the new releases but is buried on page 5.

But I wonder what this means............!

1) BAD thing: what if they are queuing all approved apps for mass approvals on the same day each week?

2) GOOD thing: what if they decided to stop reviewing so intensely and just opened the floodgates yesterday

I am bummed, so I posted yesterday that I am still waiting, but I guess later in the day I didn't check my emails, and I got approval. But I just saw it today, which means I can't change the date to get onto the first page. I lost my opportunity. But at least I know fo one bug in my app, so I guess I do another approval.

You should still change your availability date to yesterday or today. The release date in the store is always the approval date or your availability date, whichever is earlier. It won't get you bumped to today's new releases but you will bump up to the approval date, yesterday.

Log into iTunesConnect > go to "Manage Your Applications" > look for your app and click on "Edit Information" > click on "Pricing". Apple sometimes really rocks at making things simple

My 2 apps were waiting 12 days. Got approved today. One in games, one in lifestyle. But I think they sometimes do go by categories. As someone earlier pointed towards.

_Oh and I hate whiners and complainers, especially when it is a FREE app! Yes, I'll admit it. I made Rat Trap. But it sells 400+ a day-free.

Last 2 at 14 days a piece. So now I need to kick-it and get some updates and my new one in there. So now the pressure moves from Apple to me. Come on me. Congrats to everyone who finally got approved.
