After 15 days, I got on the phone yesterday with developer relations, then sent an email to appreview@apple.com. Got boilerplate response in both cases, then my app got approved a couple hours later. Don't know if it was coincidence or not

I had another theory that as soon as you get a rejection, they screw you on priority for future updates (either inentional or otherwise). Anyone else had this experience?
I also had an update approved about 2 hours after I submitted it once, so it seems to be humans picking things out of a queue.
Finally got one of my update approved today - officially 17 days (since the last binary upload).
So looks like waiting time have more than doubled this last month.

I am at 13 days myself... reading the thread, if you make it past 10 days, you are either accepted or eventually receive a 'taking longer' email? right/wrong? thanks
I submitted an update on june 17th and it still shows no sign of approval. The update before this one took something around 30 days to clear.
New apps usually go through a lot faster (between 7 and 10 days). However, I feel that has slowed down as well. One of my new apps is on day 11 and counting. I still think the whole process could use A LOT more transparency.
As Apple can do whatever they want to, we seem to have only 2 options left: Either deal with it or leave iPhone app development for good. You decide
Thought I'd share my experience. I submit my first app last Friday, June 26th around 6PM EST. It was then approved yesterday (well it's like 2am right now), Thursday, July 2nd around 10PM... so really it only took 4 days. I'm amazed at how much faster it worked out, especially when people where telling me it usually takes upwards of 7 business days.
Oh, and it's a free app, not sure if that affects the approval time.

P.S. Just focus on stuff IRL during your approval period. As long as iPhone dev isn't your full-time job or income, try not to do any development while you're waiting for app to be submitted, it really helps time fly by. -My 2 Cents-

re: focus on stuff IRL .. seriously, if you are a nervous developer.. work on the next app. approval seems highly random... more info is needed to figure out if they have a pattern or if it just comes down to the reviewer you get. meh.

Right on man - I've got a patch that's been in the queue for about a week (7 days) now. A Patch! Come on! heh.
I just started working diligently on my next app while await....

Good luck to all!

Heh, did you do any profiling with instruments? Try playing with your app for like 15 or 20m - I noticed that some unreleased memory was causing my app to get killed after 15m or so of continued use (traversing the navigation views, etc).
I made sure I was releasing everything as best I could and it fixed this problem. I can run my app for a pretty long time and no crashes/freezes/shutdowns happen.
Congrats! - That's great May I ask what category you listed your app in?
it was medical. My mum is a doctor and always spends ages filling out growth charts, as you have to wrk out the babies age in weeks, so i made the app for her
Submitted June 19, approved today (July 3). So that's 2 weeks?
Also, quick question: I started the contract for paid apps but didn't finish it...and it says it's in effect? Is that normal? I would like to put the app on the store soon, so does this just mean that I won't get paid until I finish the contract or that I can't list the app for $.99 (which is what it was submitted as)? Or did something go wrong XD
I submitted an update of both the free version and the paid version of my game on Thursday eight days ago. I just received an answer that the paid version is now ready for sale. The free version is still in review. Eight days is not bad.
The only thing I did to the paid version was to recompile it for 3.0 (the previous version wouldn't start in 3.0), so I guess that could be one reason why it went so quickly. The free version is now offering much more than the previous versions, so it might take longer time to review it. This is interesting, because both versions have always been accepted at the same time in the past, but not this time.
When people post that apps are approved, it would be helpful to know if it is an Update or a New app as the approval queues seem to take different amounts of time.

The free version is also accepted now, which means both updates took exactly eight days and a few hours.
