Default Really disappointing Apple nonperformance

The timeline of events:

Commercial Application (after application was developed and ready to ship):

* signing up for the developer program 2 hours
* obtaining the developer license $99 and 12 days (had to wait for them to approve us as a company and we had to call them to get this pushed through)
* entering in the tax information 1 day to get the paperwork through
* I submitted the app for review but it was waiting to be allowed to charge for the application
* waiting to be approved to charge money for a program 21 days
* we are now able to charge, but they are approving the application, it has been 3 weeks since we were approved to charge and they have not approved the application (it was submitted Sept 17) still the application is not approved
* total time: 54 days so far in this process and still no app approval

This is a dirt simple app from a functionality standpoint but a clever entertainment application, the graphics are first class steampunk inspired.

Three emails and 5 phone calls have yielded the following statements by Apple's reps "I will check on its progress it shouldn't exceed 21 days", " I will escalate this to the review team" ," I told you we had escalated this last week I will follow up with an email when I get a response to confirm what has happened(Oct 14th and she never emailed me anything further", "Yes it does appear to have taken some time, I will email the dept (This was Friday the 24th)

I emailed Steve out of complete frustration, there hasn't been a single communication in regard to the application.

Day 9 still in review so this is longer then my first app. I was just curious the last tab where it says review when you submitt your app it says review store. I changed mine to Australia several times and it keeps going to new zealand. Are all the applications reviewed in the US and everyone is on one que or is it reviewed in the review stores area etc. So there are different ques for in review?

Mine has been saying "Ready for sale" for a week and not appeared for sale.

Just noticed the avaiable date was set to dec 2009 for no reason!!!!

Ive edited it to be released now, and it should appear soon. But if anybody is waiting ages after "ready for sale" then check the release date in the app details!

Bah.

I submitted our third app on Saturday night after struggling with the upload due to code signing issues. Hopefully it gets approved this week.

Was anyone else having problems during that time? Im thinking their servers might have been down or something...It said code signing failed, but I had verified everything. After a few hours, i tried again and it worked fine.

Also, has anyone noticed if apps get reviewd quicker if you already have apps out there on the store?

My second app took less than 24 hours.

Im starting to think they pick and choose apps to review. My app was a holiday themed one (christmas) and they reviewed it within 24 hours also.

mine was based on election and i submited with a week and a half left b4 election and i got an email saying they needed extra time to review... only 18 hours after i submited which is insanley quick compared to my usual apps. then i called them up and explained how it needs to be approved in a hurry because of election, so i waited and in a day it was denied for making fun of presedential canadates

my apps names were:

smear lipstick on obama
and
smear lipstick on palin

and it showed pics of them and you could smear lipstick on there faces, multi colored lipsticks too xD and take pics.. i would have made millions if it hadnt of gotten denied... 4 times... in a row :'(

i gave up on that xD soo much hard work and time put into apps just to get them denied :'( it sux

If you still want people to use your app why don't you upload it free on Cydia. You could also add the "AdMob for iPhone".

My App CarTrack was submitted 3rd October and went live 9th October (Total: 6 days)

I have submitted an update to the application on 19th October and so far am still waiting for this to go live (Total: 9 days)

It really is strange reading the totally random times people are waiting for approvals from Apple. I don't think we'll ever fully understand the process.

We submitted MobileFiles (iDisk access) to the store 10/20, approved pending contract 10/21, ready for sale tonight 10/30. Seems reasonable overall, especially the application approval part. The legal stuff seemed to take the longest (from what's visible via iTunes connect).

Yeah I gotta admit it is pretty bullshit not even getting any kind of reply at all. Did we really pay $99 to be ignored?

Completed and sent my W-8BEN to apple on October 13th but have been stuck in the dreaded "pending contract" status ever since. I emailed iTS Tax on Tuesday but have yet to receive a reply (way to go apple).

Does anyone know how long it currently takes to set-up a contract? I'm getting really hacked off now.

Please do not take offense to this but it seems that the wait time varies depending on the size of the application. DChat looks to be a very small application so 2 days seems fair.
Note: I am not saying anything bad, just my oppinion.

My small update has just been approved after 15 days!

Personally I think it's ridiculous that Apple does not have a queue system.

What if two people create the same game. One submits first but the second application to be submitted can get published first. That's just bull

Default still waiting zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I doubt the size of the app is the issue, my app has been in review since oct 5th and it is quite simple.

I was pissed for a while, now I just think this whole thing is a joke

Default Finally!

My App just got the greenlights after weeks of "Pending contract"... It took less than 6 hours to get the app approved and almost 6 weeks to get the contract going - But I'm happy the wait is over!
Or, well - now I have to wait for it to show up in the appstore - but at least it's finally on its way!

Haha, ye its small so far. Naw size has nothing to do with review time, theres tip calculators taking weeks to approve.

Default Pure Joy...

Pure joy - not!
When I finally get my app out there it ends up on page 4 - they've set the release date to when my app was approved and not actually released...
Oh well, that was a sweet anit-climax if I ever saw one. I guess I'm stumped and never even gets a chans to sell at least 10 copies then...

If your app can't even sell 10 copies being anywhere in the app store I think you have bigger problems than release date
