can i ask what it got rejected for? I have another app I might submit before that one is approved...
Sure, Language. So, I had to make a censored version (awaiting approval) and an uncensored version (which I'm actually building right now) and I'll mark it as 17+ or whatever is the highest (18, 21..).

cool... I'm worried I am releasing all my memory properly... good luck
If I've rejected my own binary and resubmitted it, does it start you over in the queue/wait for approval? It's a new app versus update at least, but I'm afraid I just started my wait over (urg).
Despite all the apparent problems the people in this thread have, each of my app submissions (new apps and updates) has previously taken exactly six days (submit on a Saturday, approved following Friday, etc).
Now, the last two I submitted 3 weeks ago took 7 days... so I thought things were slowing a touch.
Now I've submitted one app update and one new app last Friday, and still nothing so we're at ~9 days and counting at this point. So for me this definitely indicates that there are changes in the speed at which apps are being processed.
I believe there is probably a flood of updated / new apps taking advantage of OS 3.0, which probably explains it fully.
But just to reiterate because it's probably of interest to some people - all my apps in the past (approximately 10 apps + 10-20 updates) have taken six days. It always surprises me to read this thread and see 20+ day waits.
Up until 30 days ago, all my submissions, new and updates were taking 7-10 days to approve. Now, I have one update that's been sitting out there for exactly 30 days today, and still isn't approved. Very frustrating.
Yes, experienced/experiencing that myself. I've 12 apps on the store and usually new apps and updates got approved between 7-10 days. Now, new apps still seem to get through within that time period, while updates T A K E A L O T L O N G E R!!! Maybe this is caused by iPhone OS 3.0 - many developers submitting their compatibility updates right now and therefore filling up the updates queue? Just a thought...

Anyone experienced that scenario recently?
Yes, When you reject your binary the wait starts over from the beginning.
Hi. My app is "ready for sale" now but not in the app-store?! What do I have to do to make it happen? Or is it just delayed a few hours?
The direct link that was included in the email Apple sent you should work immediately. It will take a few hours before it starts to show up in search results.
The one caveat to this is if the release date is a future date but I believe the app status would be something other than "ready for sale"
Yes I was shocked. Especially am I am in the Uk and he was ringing (very early in the morning as he told me) from the US.
I got the feeling he didn't want to reject my app just because of something in its description. Maybe I'm wrong but lets see if it get released in the next few days.

OK so I was right...I was talking to a reviewer.
Unfortunately it didn't help as I got a rejection anyway. So it looks like the timings are as follows now (at for updates)
1) Release App for review Day 1
2) App is reviewed day 10/11
3) App is rejected or Submitted day 14
To me it looks like the wait times for Updates have double to 14 days from the previous consistent 7 day wait I experienced.
Pretty pissed with Apple and wrote but to the reviewer asking for my complaint to be forwarded onto the relevant department. I know it won't do any good but at least I focused my anger somewhere...
My situation as of now:
It's summer, so I've had time to create and submit a whole bunch of updates in the past few days. No word back on either. But I have had one app in review for over a month. At least I did get that extra time email. Unfortunately, I submitted an update to an app a week ago and immediately got the extra time email. There's no way I'm waiting a month or more to have that update on the store! So I resubmitted the binary (self rejected it) and it's still in review. One can only hope that it'll be out soon.
I have had 4 new apps and 1 update, and they all took 6-7 days to accept. The ones waiting now are clearly going to be longer.
