My NEW app Duo was released today, exactly 7 days after I rejected and then re-submitted the binary. The app was compiled on SDK 3.0. I noticed that Apple tested the app 4 days ago. It appears untouched since then.
I also have an update still "In Review" that's been waiting for 11 days. I can see that this one has also already been tested. It's just waiting for unknown reasons.
I think Marco Ament's Intentional Delay Theory makes sense. I'm not sure why Apple would increase the delay time for updates to 14-20 days though. Perhaps they think this will decrease the amount of frivolous updates somehow.

Yet more proof that New apps are getting approved and updates being delayed.
I'm beginning to think its really not worth bothering with anymore.
Hmmm....how do you tell that your app has already been "tested"? Is there something in your iTunes Connect account that indicates this?
I use Pinch Media Analytics. It's a free, easy-to-use service. Whenever I see that a new user has popped up since I submitted, I know it's been tested.

I'm guessing this is an API that has to be built into your app? Are there any other (easier) methods to determine if an app's been "tested"? I've been waiting over 2 weeks for my update to be approved.
Not supposed to? I wrote the app and I want 25 people to have it for free. How is that any different than making the app free for everybody?
I think he was referring to the fact that there is another entire section dedicated to promo codes, and another dedicated to shameless promotion.
Taking up half a page here with codes is going annoy people more than make them want your app. We just wanna know how long apps take to get approved, and why.
In an effort to stay on topic - I did mention I had an app approved in two days. The updates which I did the same day are still awaiting approval. So +1 to the new apps getting preference theory.

I could give two shits if people want the app or not. It had nothing to do with "shameless promotion".
Those that were uninterested simply skimmed over it. Please don't have a nervous breakdown because a few of us went off topic.
That said, in an effort to stay on topic, my update has been in review for 17 days.

Wow, chill mate. I don't think you understand, Shameless Promotion is literally the name of the forum section - not what I was labelling your post.
I don't think anyone really cares that you put codes here - but theres a place dedicated for it so why not put em there where people expect it.
Is this the right time to switch sdk 3.0 beta , i am still using 2.2 for development .. going through previous posts i found that now a 3.0 compatibility provision [ check box ] is there ..
so experts should i switch to sdk 3.0 or i can continue till full version gets released ..
* One question : i have seen many applications which gets crashed after using them continuously for 5 minutes , what apple people are doing .. ? a minute testing doesnt reveals all the features of a application
*
regards

I apologize. I misunderstood what you were trying to say.
I don't know about the rest of you but I'm at the point now where I feel I should just cancel and resubmit the update. It's been in the queue for 18 days.

That would make things worse for you as that means your app will be put at the back of the queue again.

I agree. If they are holding back on updates, then i'd assume they'd start where they left off in the queue. I'm gonna wait it out, maybe send some futile e-mails.

One week for me now......they opened it on Saturday and nothing since. Is there no indication at all!???!??!
New update of Bug Squash was finally approved today - 16 days from day of submission.
Apparently paid apps have priority over non-paid apps as we submitted updates for some LITE versions of our apps that are not approved yet.
Maybe Apple is trying to prioritize approvals based on what will generate the most revenue for them as the quarter is coming to an end (New Apps First, then Paid App updates, then LITE / free updates). Would make sense from a business perpective for them.

My brand new app was submitted on Tuesday and I just got the "requiring unexpected additional time for review" email today. It is a free app, if anyone wants to use that as a data point.
