Not approved yet, but I did have someone named "Pete" visit my support web site and enter information into the contact field. Could be nothing, but might be something.
Submitted last week, got rejection for 'obscene content' again yesterday (8 day wait). Updated my sites php keyword and censor settings to please them.
Wrote them back saying ok fire up the app again, you will not get this content, the actuall binary application does not need to be updated to fix this issue. They tell me nope, application denied, send application again and start again.
Resent today, back to the end of the line and waiting 7+ days again.
What a bunch of tossers...
...bunch of tossers...LOVE that phrase.
We had a similar experience with rejection. We were rejected for trademark issues multiple times. Once we finally resolved that, we were rejected for "obscene content". Even after we fixed the content, exactly as instructed, we were rejected again for the same reason, "obscene content".
It seems like a reviewer may go far enough to find a reason to reject an app., then stop. Once the app. is resubmitted with the fix, a reviewer (possibly a different person) may find another issue...rinse, lather, repeat.
First submission always feels the longest... good luck with your App. Hopefully the wait is not longer than the 7 day average it seems to be right now.
I know, right? I forgot my bank info and I don't know all of it, so I need to go to the bank tomorrow so I can get paid... but I have a free app still in review. Hope it's reviewed soon; can't wait!

TTY this weekend.

Rejection letter received today: "Sleuth cannot be posted because it is a feature-limited version."
I have a screen that says, Coming Soon, and list features that I'm working on. At the time, it felt very Apple like, but in retrospect, it wasn't at all. Back to the code, then another 7 to 8 day wait! Uggghhhh.
Is my company the only one that has seen a drastic increase in approval time? We have two apps that seem to be stuck. One is now on day 14 and we have received no communication from Apple about this app. The other is on day 13 and we did receive the "requiring unexpected additional time" letter. Unfortunately, this is a time critical app that was written for a client who is now screaming. Has anyone found a way to influence the approval process? We could lose a valuable client over this as well as the substantial investment we have in the app.

You can try contacting ADC but by phone..emails don't get seen quickly. They will be able to contact the review department on your behalf but unfortunately 14 days isn't too bad in reality so not sure whether it will do any good. Can't hurt though.

Unfortunately Apple don't care about this currently. The problem is they are selling apps all the time....just not always the "right" ones...so they do not lose out short term. Maybe long term if developers start to abandon the platform we'll see a change but personally I don't think this will ever happen (developers abandoning I mean).

As an aside, I think it is prudent, when signing a development contract with a third party for this platform, that you specifically state they can not punish you for failings on the part of apple to publish the content into the app store. Ie.. make the app functioning on the target the only requirement for your being paid for the development time, and the application being put up onto the app store itself be made a "not your problem" issue.
Naturally, that's a simplistic view that doesnt' take into consideration all the details that might be revolving around your particular situation, but, lessons learned, yanno?

Usually it takes 7 days to get approved or rejected. This time I am on 8+ days, and still waiting. I think that they just got too many apps to deal with, and that number is only going to get bigger.
I was getting 6-8 day turnarounds but now I've managed to get 4 stuck in the queue. Now I just sit here hoping they get too them sometime in the near future.
@iphoneAppStudio: Apple does not check the trademarks if that is what you are wondering. They WILL remove the App if they get complaints about copyrighted/trademarked names however. So as long as you have the rights to use them, it should not be an issue.
Yes, rejecting your own binary and resubmitting puts you at the back of the line again.
Just submitted an update to iScore Baseball today... let the countdown begin....
Submitted: April 21, 2009
Rejected one week later.
Never received an email or anything with a reason for the rejection. So, how do I fix the cause of the rejection without knowing the cause of the rejection. The app is free, simple, works, no crashes or odd behavior, tested both on simulator and iPhone, and everything went well in the distribution build before submission - followed ALL submission guidelines. Apple! Brilliant!
Going to contact (email, form, call) and see how long it takes to get a response. Besides the developer.apple.com/contact form and the phone numbers, is there an email address listed somewhere?
Well we have been seeing update go a little faster than new apps. But with an app that couldn't possibly have any questionable content approaching day 15, I've got to think something is clogged.
Calling ADC was of no help by the way. They just told us to send an email.
If application gets crashed ..does it gets rejected ?
Hi it sounds silly but if my application will get crashed ...apple people will reject that ? i have downloaded a application made by one of the biggest company which has crashed three times ..
What does this implies ?
