Has anyone else noticed a change in the way apps are listed on the device? I submitted an update on Sunday, had it approved on Thursday, but never showed up in the correct categories on the device when sorting by Release Date. In fact, the same apps have been there since Thursday with no changes at all. In addition, the ones that are there do not have recent release dates (some as far back as November).

iTunes on my computer shows the list as expected, but the one on the device seems to be plain wrong.

Been waiting over 5 days for the Ninja Buddy update; really sucks because I am currently featured in some countries and really wanted this update to hit on the weekend and synergize with that...

Nothing's been approved for me either for stuff submitted since Sunday last. Don't know what's going on...

Got rejected on the app I submitted on the 8th on the 13th for a small interface bug. Fixed right away and resubmitted the app on the 13th, waiting for approval.

Submitted my third update to Rogue Touch on 3/11/09, still no response. I hope it gets approved soon! Don't understand what the problem could be... they were doing so good at turning around updates for a while.

Maybe we should start calling or some such. I understand they're busy; but I'm really bummed...if the update hit during the weekend I would have definitely hit the top 5 in some countries (it was at like 19 in Canada for instance and was being featured)....what a waste...

Something is indeed messed up because I made a description change in ITC over 2 days ago and it still has not showed up.

OMG.... something is indeed horribly messed up. On your phone check out the entertainment category and sort by release date....look what's happened! I'm gonna make a new thread.

This has been actively talked about on the Apple Developer Forums - the appstore is severely messed up on the iPhone... There seem to be some devs holding back on updating due to this - and it has been going on for a while now... Takes longer time for your app to show up in iTunes AppStore, and well probably not at all in the iPhone AppStore (mine are gone), since when sorting by release date you get apps that are release 2008 mixed with some from 2009, without any appareant connection...

So yes, it's a mess...

Aww hell...any comment from apple? Maybe they are actually delaying releasing updates till this is fixed (myself and some other devs here have not had their apps approved as soon as they were expecting).

The first app I submitted to the store is gone too. If I go to browser and choose to browse by name under utilities its not there.

I've tried emailing several times and got nothing back from apple, and because of that I haven't gotten any sales for the past 3 weeks.

No comments from Apple as far as I've heard... And I don't think they're delaying things, think it's just an effect of the new rating system and stuff not being really in sync... It will probably sort itself out over time, but I hardly think there will be any compensation for those getting caught up in this transition... But then again, what do I know? I don't work at Apple so this is pure speculation!

Something seems to be hosed up, big time. The only iTunes that works is the one on the desktop, the one on iPhone shows stuff from a week ago. Called the London support center and they said that updates are taking a little longer to approve and so please be 'patient'.

Great so there will be a flood of apps all released together, each one lost in a sea of other apps.

Oh, and thanks for taking the time to share the info, I appreciate it.

Ok so I just got my first app approval (submitted March 7, accepted today March 16).

If I go into iTunes Connect and change the release date to something like March 20, will Apple actually honor that? Or is it too late now that the app is accepted? Its release date is currently set to March 7, the day I submitted the app.

Thanks

You should set it to the date it got approve GMT-time... That's the release date it will have, if you set it to say the 20th you're only delaying the time untill it will show up - release date will still be that when it was approved (and your app will show up several pages down one's it hits the store)

Hey scotopia, I see you finally got your update approved AND featured in "Staff Favorites" in the USA store today! How's it feel to win the lottery? I'm still waiting on my update submitted 3/11... Oh, and Apple, any time you want to feature me go for it

How does Apple update the "Release Date" listing for categories? Mine app was approved on the 16th, but I don't see it when looking at the release date listing. Also if I look at the entertainment category, sorted by release date, in iTunes, I have a much different list than when viewed from my iPhone? I only see 3 apps with a release date of March 16, and it's been that way on iTunes for about 12 hours now.
