Title says it all, really. Does anyone else have experience with such long review times? We did get an "it's taking longer than expected" message during day three, but this seems a bit much. App details are at Green Driver, but I'm not sure that's relevant.
I submitted an application to view iAds. It was literally 1 view with 7 iAds plastered on it. I created it because of all the threads of people saying, "I wanna see iAds! What apps have iAds?!" I figured it'd be a good first app and a way to make easy cash
7/21 Waiting for review

7/28 "Your application needs more time to review" email
7/29 Call from apple saying that my application had an inappropriate use of iAds, and that there can't be applications dedicated to just viewing iAds.
I thought it was a mutually beneficent move, as Apple would make money off it as well as show off their new ad system. Guess not?

In my [very limited] experience in both personal applications and stories online, the "Your app needs more time to review" email generally means that the tester couldn't decide whether or not to approve it (usually for grey legal/moral issues rather than technical) and sent it to a superior.
Apple may have qualms about publishing a very local app to an international store. I would suggest emphasizing in the description that it is only available in a limited number of areas.
EDIT: Your application currently only works in Euguene (sp?), Oregon. Apple's App Testers probably are located in California, and have no way of testing whether the app actually works. This would explain the extensive delay.

Great, got the same "needs more time to review" email. So how long does this usually take? I've already been waiting about 3 weeks now. From the sound of things I should be expecting a phone call or something.

The VERY local. I don't think that Apple will approve it like that. You need at least update it for the major cities....
(Pretty tough to get the data on how and when traffic lights switch... especially when they are not interconnected, which is the case in most cities)

My first post and currently have my first app In Review
Originally submitted July 23rd, but I rejected 4 times for various reasons. So I left it with them on July 26th. So assume that's when it gets in the queue.
August 2nd: status is In Review.
Today I found a spelling error in the description meta data, and quickly fixed it, hope that doesn't put me back.
