thank you, glad you like it. The email i received from Apple said:
Thank you for the emails. At this time, iAPODViewerLite cannot be posted to the App Store due to an issue encountered during the review process. In order for your application to be considered for the App Store, please re-upload your binary to iTunes Connect, and reply to this email once this has been completed.
So who knows what happened except there was obviously an issue at their end.
regards, m.
Whoever was reviewing your app deleted it by accident.
I think one of my apps is hung up In Review. The lite version of the same app was submitted on the same day and was approved two weeks ago. A few days ago I rejected the binary and resubmitted but I don't know if it will change anything. The two avenues of contact that I have found was to reply to one of the rejection emails for the app and to go to "Contact Us" in iTunes Connect. That's a nightmare, by the way. Apparently, "Contact Us" means you want go through multiple dropdown lists that list answers to problems that you don't have. You have to actually find the right question in order to get the real "Contact Us" form which can be found in the section that describes how you manage your application - ridiculous.
I would resubmit the whole app except that I would have to give it another name and the lite version which has been released already is linked to the the URL of the submission. The last time I sent such a message to Apple, I didn't hear back for like six weeks. I'm having to do ad hoc distribution of the paid app to some users because I only have the lite version out there right now.
I got rejected twice already: (Submitted on Jan-9).
- first reject related to "use Contact" icon on the NavBar with diff. purpose is not allow. blah blah...
- second reject related to internet connection timeout on slow network need to display an alert. blah blah...
Each reject is addition 2-3 day of waiting... Now I'm back to waiting for another rejection.
Wish me luck...
hey guys, my first post after reading for some time; so hi everyone!
as for the appstore wait: my first application (ShowMe) got rejected first to some minor issue, 2 days later again due to non-compliance to apple's trademark rules. i replied to ask where as i haven't used any apple images at all.
well, 2 days later i got a reply that one of the included pictures (that i took myself) shows a shopping mall with an apple shop (=the big apple logo over the entrance) visible which is not in accordance with their rules...
now i'm waiting again....
my other application got approved without problems in 4 days in the meantime.
Submitted yesterday, but I think it will be rejected because my website, well isn't really a website for the app, but a stupid personal website I made years and years ago on geocities.
Do yourself a favor and at least spruce that site up if you think its really bad. They might just ping it to make sure its active and not worry about it. You never know. If its not critical to your application, then I don't think it should be an issue.
I just used a googlepages site for my app. One with some general information (The 'developer site') and then another with specific info on my app, including a general description, bugs (as they were pointed out to me) including a description of progress in fixing them, features to add, and an FAQ.
Nothing fancy, basic, but effective, and my app was approved in about a week.
I think you can submit pretty quickly after you have filled out some basic info in the iTunes Connect section. I think you only have to fill out some contractual stuff for "Free Apps" in order to submit an app for review.
If you do not submit your bank info for direct deposit and you submit a pay app, you are going to have the "Pending Contract" issue like gizmo99.
I would hold back on submitting if you're in pending contract-mode... Will only result in your app getting approved but not put on the appstore due to the contract not being finalized... When your contract is approved your app will be released with the release-date set to the date your app was approved - not the date the contract goes thru which means your app will not show up on the first page of your category, but instead be buried several pages back depending how long it took for your contract to go through. If you're out of luck these 2 dates can be several weeks apart...

Darn it ! I should have waited for my contract to be approved before I submitted my app. Are there anything I can do to expedite the process?

Don't think so - I did the same mistake and was stuck in pending-mode, I tried to write to them to speed things up when I was pending but I didn't get any reply until after my contract came through - which was three weeks after my app was approved (I was in pending contract for about six or seven weeks). I thought that submitting my app perhaps would speed things up (and I didn't know about the release-date thing) but I don't think it did... I just ended up far back in my category once the contract was approved...
Hope you don't have to wait that long tho because it was no fun...

How about changing the "release date" in Itunes and keep bumping it up to a further day? When the contract does get approved, will it still use the "ready for sale" date. Or the "release date"

Man.. should have waited
Actually tried that... Doesn't seem to work, since they use the earliest date (app-approval or contract) as the release-date... And it's the release-date, not ready for sale that counts...
But you can do that if you submit an update - so all hope is not lost.. You should wait a couple of weeks though, I think they put you on hold for 2 weeks if you submit an update immediately, think I read something about that, you can't update to frequently or something...

Oh Lord , how is my game going to get discovered. Argh!.
I was just wondering how long it takes until I am able to run the app on my phone?
Do you mean that you're not yet allowed into the portal and can't run your apps on your phone?
It took me several months to get my company approved when I applied - so to be able to test on my phone I registered as an individual as well (since this only takes a day or two to be approved) and used that account up until I got my company approved. Then I just replaced all the keys and provision-files... Of course this means you would have to pay the $99 twice, but if you're impatient that's one way to go...
So I will not be able to run my app on a device or submit it to the appstore for several months? What happened to Apple's "a few days"?
Heh - I'm not saying it will take you several months, just that it took me several months. probably depends on alot of different factors - like what country you live in (if you live in the US I think it goes much faster), the amount of people applying, if they forget about you or drop you application on the floor and loose it under the copier-machine...
Actually I have no idea what to expect in terms of the time it takes to get an approval - I applied last summer - so there are factors like vacations and stuff and the fact that all of this was pretty new back then, they seem to be alot faster with approving apps nowadays so perhaps that applies to this aspect as well...
