not true,my 57, and 512, are a tiny bit off, not noticable though
Well - if not noticable then.. Not quite the same as removing the background and doing a black backdrop then...
Still needs to look the same - if there are minor minor diffs that might be not noticable then I guess (since you can't notice them) that would be ok...
hm...
or just change the 512 logo (same as the 57). this way you'll stay in the queue...
If you can do that - then that's an even better alternative - but I think the original problem was that the ikon the app itself (not the one for iTunes) was the one modified...
But rethinking might also be a solution...

in this case you can change both icon's with an update, but the app is still approved in the first version (hopefully)
I've updated the icons so that they are the same. But I have another problem now!
When I try and run the app on my device in distribution mode
it says:
Quote:
The iPhone “My iPhone/Users/Me/Desktop/My_Profile.mobileprovision” doesn’t have the provisioning profile with which the application was signed.
Click “Install and Run” to install the provisioning profile “AppName” on “My iPhone/Users/Me/Desktop/My_Profile.mobileprovision” and continue running “AppName.app”
I click install and run
and then organizer pops up saying:
Quote:
A valid Provisioning profile for this executable was not found
Has this happened because i made an icon change and did a rebuild?
Ok I see so the distribution profile will not let me release to my iPhone
ie it's only for app upload?
Debug = test in xCode while debugging...
Distribution = AdHoc distribution for other devices in an AdHoc situation (beta-test etc.)
Release = Release on AppStore, will not work anywhere else...
These are not one and the same...
How much have you tested you app and prepared for distribution if you can't tell these apart?
How did you create you're provisioning files to get things to work?
Release profile: installs to my iPhone and it uses my provitional profile.
Distribution profile: does not install to my iPhone, it uses the distribution and app prfile I created in the iPhone portal.
Have i got this completly wrong?
Well - not necessarily since you name the different profiles in Xcode as you please... But it would be good standard to try to get your head around all this and name them in a manner that let's everyone else understand what you're talking about...
When developing - and testing on you device (iPhone/iPod) - That should be called debug (called that in portal as well if I remember correctly)...
When building AdHoc - Called distribution togheter with the release (might be a bit confusing) - Should be named Distribution in Xcode...
When building for AppStore - Called Release - defined at the same place as the AdHoc, only you choose store insted of ad hoc...
So, if your release installs to your phone while debugging (and developing) that is not your release profile - that's your debug-profile...
If your Distribution profile does not install into your phone but you managed to submit it to iTunes Connect as an app for review - then that's your Release profile...
If you haven't built any AdHoc-versions for beta-tests (then you haven't tried out your app on any other devices and that's not all togheter good since you should test you app before submitting), then that slot is empty but should be called Distribution...
That's how it works if you want people to understand what you're talking about...
Thanks for the information, I'll correct my terminology now.
The one I have uploaded was setup with AppStore profile.
Sorry one more question..
I have tested the app on my phone if I want to test
it on my wifes phone I just create an ad hoc one and plug her iPhone in?
Thanks for all the info bud, I read too many articles and got
confused with all the first app excitement
No problem - easy to get confused...
If you want to test on you wifes phone you got 2 options... Set her phone up as a dev-device and build to it or use it as an AdHoc-device... The second one would be a lot of a more hassle but I would suggest to try that out to learn more how it works...
Now - ALL of the info that I've provided and a lot more (including screenshots on how to do things) are provided to you on the Portal - so I would suggest you go there and read up on these thing...
That said you are most likely to bump into some problems along the way especially if you're going down the AdHoc-route... Still, you should try it and stick to it (if you get into problems) untill it works... If you do you will learn a lot more about how all this works (and doesn't work) than you will from sticking to one device and uploading to iTunes Connect without going through all the information found on the Portal. And you will probably bump into problems not resolved on Apples site, and in that case SEARCH this forum (or Google) as you're most likely to come up with some answers doing that...
All that being said - It's a learning process and I still sometimes can't get my AdHoc's to work properly... Just bang that head against the wall. Eventually you'll get through it or the light you see will just be the stars circling your head from hitting it too hard...
Thank you for submitting Party Girls to the App Store. Please refer to an example of this content in the attached screenshot.
Yes! 1 month and still no approved/reject mail! Great news!
not.
mine went 3.5 weeks a while ago till it finally got rejected if that helps
but I may have made a discovery!
Submission 1:
-Sent App, set release date to a month ahead
-Rejected 25 days later!
Submission 2:
-Re-sent App, set release date to 2 weeks ahead
-Accepted in 10 days!
Does Apple take your release date into consideration for your spot in line? This might be helpfull!

You might want to email Apple about this. I had an app waiting for approval for 1 month, heard nothing. Finally I emailed them to ask about it. Their reply was "Oh, sorry we rejected this a couple of weeks ago but just did not feel like sending the email to tell you." - Not exact quote but pretty much the same thing.

I got the unexpected additional time email 2weeks and half ago, and last week I sent them an email, and all I got was: "Your application is still under review which is requiring unexpected additional time. While there is no additional information to share at this time, we wanted you to know it is still in process. We apologize for the delay, and will update you with further status as soon as we are able."
Is this a robot or what?! The same crap that they said me almost 3 weeks ago!
Also I visit iTunesConnect daily, and it's "Still in Review" :|
Mr. Rodriguez, I have had issues in the past with the babe apps. Sometimes it is not even worth bothering. If you have questionable material just in your resources folder, not used in the app, they'll reject it. But here was my rejection for the day.
Dear Mr. Ruhm,
Thank you for submitting Electrician's Gold Mine to the App Store. A screenshot of this issue has been attached for your reference.

So here is the lesson. When you get the iPhone icons package. Just delete the iPhone icon. That is what I used. Just wanted to test it. I liked the way it looked but trademark violation. Dang it. Well I guess they don't want Apple stuff in Apple stuff. LOL

I advertise my apps on http://www.envybox.com Where you CAN post and get Promo Codes..... plus there's an app for that.
When do they usually send the "need additional time" email?
I have a new app waiting from sept 26, haven't heard anything of it. It's been more than two weeks and other apps from then are already approved/rejected. I hope it's not forgotten...
